Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in West Monroe

I will not be going back. They have gotten me twice with a sour salads.

I went in and picked up a grab and go salad about six months ago. I thought I had selected a decent salad. However, when I got home, I was unpleasantly surprised that the lettuce on the bottom of the salad was already old. I thought I would give them another try so I went inside and ordered a salad to go with specific directions to hold the tomatoes and add extra cucumbers. It was my fault that I did not check the salad before leaving and for assuming it would’ve been made fresh. However, when I got home, the salad I was given was soured. It appears to me that it was a salad that was removed from the front end because it was too old to be sold. When I opened the top of the salad, you could smell the sour meat and cheese. Needless to say it went in the trash. I did call and speak to a manager who offered to give me another salad. I explained to him it was not my first bad experience for that location but that it...

I just had a salad & tea. Manager asked how everything was & I said delicious except for all the core of the lettuce that I had taken out! He could see it was the same amount as the good lettuce! I asked why & he said since Covid that Newk's everywhere had to get bags of lettuce because they could not hire people to prepare lettuce for 2 hours a day like they used to. It would cost too much & headquarters would not do it. They are so busy with customers that I am sure they can afford better lettuce. My son still likes half salad there nearly every day! I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all of Newk's staff. I've been coming here for years. This is my favorite place to dine in the twin cities. Brandon, Bo & Don are the best managers. Always hands-on and working hard with the rest of the staff.
