La Mexicanita — Restaurant in West New York

I was there this past weekend...Very dissapointed with the service and food, I am mexican so I know what food is supposed to taste like, asked for Huevos Rancheros but got a lump of rice and beans with 2 fried eggs on top, no sauce and they threw in a couple of thick hand made tortilla that were half way cooked. I would be ashamed to call this mexican food, plus the price listed in the menu was not the same I got when paying the bill and even worst I presented my credit card which they took out of the building around the corner...I was completely freaked out about that, but the server was totally indifferent about me asking why my card was taken out of the restaurant. Also while eating a homeless person walked in asking for money, I called the server but completely ignored me, looks like she does not speak english and did not want to get involved in this even though it was taking place inside...

The service was horrible. The guy that showed us to our table told the server hey can you take that table, as they walked past by us she said in Spanish no I don't want that table can you give me something smaller, and do they only speak English?... the place was nearly empty there had to be like 2 other tables being occupied. When she did give us our menus I was gladly to speak to her in Spanish of course she was a bit shocked. Well we ordered our drinks simple drinks 3 beers 1 margarita and a Snapple. Why did it take about 10 mins? I don't know. We finished our drinks before the food came out and she wouldn't even a knowledge our presence. She just stood by the bar and talk to her co worker. Waitress was a bit of an airhead, definitely a bar for regulars, poor service if that's not what you're already anticipating. I got chicken flautas and they were tasteless. Also ordered a rum and coke and got a Mexican coke in a bottle, took two waitresses visiting our table twice each to realize I wanted a RUM and coke. Then I was served a rum and coke 10 min later in a separate glass, then charged for both. However, I will accept that there could have been a language barrier, or too loud music, who knows. Would not go back, even...
