Mi Lindo Veracruz — Restaurant in West New York

I really don't ever leave reviews but I was so disappointed by this place that I felt the need to warn everyone NOT to go here. I used to be a regular customer because their cakes were always great but my last experience was terrible. When we cut the cake, handed out to guests and took a bite, we realized that it had gone bad. I don't understand why it would taste so sour so fast if it went straight into the refrigerator after we bought it. That night, I couldn't sleep because I had such a bad stomachache so the next day I called them and they told me to bring the remainder of the cake and they would help me. When I got there, the owner asked why I didn't bring it the day before and why it wasn't the whole cake. I kindly explained that by the time we tasted it they were closed and it was already cut so the guests had eaten parts of it. The owner began getting very nasty and disrespectful when I asked her to taste it. She said that her cakes were fresh and that if she died from eating it, I'd be welcome to her funeral. As an owner, this is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY to speak to a customer. I was in no way disrespectful to her and was simply letting them know so that they could be more careful or check their fridge. In the end, she banned me from ever going back there. Again, I explained to her that I was a regular there & had always ordered their cakes (even for my sister's wedding) but she still insisted that she wanted nothing to do with me & I could never go back there again. This place is truly amazing. There’s really no reason for any of the negative commenters below to have such a superiority complex about a family-owned restaurant, let alone any restaurant.

The location is right in the heart of Bergenline, their food is fresh and made to order, the people working there that I’ve spoken to were very polite and respectful. The food is so, so good. I really can’t find anything wrong. There’s great music, beautiful paintings of Mexico on the wall, the place is radiating pure culture.

The rice and beans are absolutely delicious, the eloté is on point, and the tacos were so damn good. And I’m a very judgmental person when it comes to tacos. Trust me when I say, give this place a try. This was my first visit ever and I’m thoroughly impressed, and I will be back again....

Pretty good Milanesa Sandwich... One of the best Guacamole in the area! Not a big fan of their cakes!!! Make sure you specify what bread or other ingredients they put in your sandwich/food... I think they hava new chef/cook and he does things a little different unless he is told otherwise... There is bad communication from the waitress to the cook... Very common problem everywhere!!!
