In the heart of West Palm Beach's vibrant downtown, Grease Burger Bar stands as a culinary landmark, a place where Americana meets urban chic. The ambiance, reminiscent of a New York City joint from a bygone era, sets the stage for a dining experience that's both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.
The crown jewels of Grease's menu are undoubtedly the burgers. Each 10 oz creation is a masterpiece, a symphony of flavors and textures that tantalize the palate. From the Caroline to the Mac Daddy, these burgers aren't just meals; they're edible narratives of American culinary ingenuity. Accompaniments like crispy russet potato fries and golden onion rings play supporting roles to these star-studded burgers, ensuring a well-rounded dining experience.
But Grease isn't just about the burgers. It's an ode to the American bar scene, with a staggering selection of craft beers and whiskeys that would make any connoisseur nod in approval. The sports bar element, with its numerous TVs and comprehensive sports package, adds a communal vibe, transforming mealtime into an event.
However, not all that glitters is gold. Some patrons find the bustling atmosphere a tad overwhelming, the cacophony of sports and chatter sometimes bordering on intrusive. And while the service generally receives high marks, there are instances where it falls short of perfection, with occasional delays and inconsistencies.
Yet, these are but minor blemishes in an otherwise stellar establishment. Grease Burger Bar, with its fusion of classic and contemporary, its commitment to culinary excellence, and its pulsating, lively ambiance, stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of American dining culture. It's a place that doesn't just serve food; it serves memories, one...
Read moreWe were given the worst table of the place, right next to the waiter station and two inches away from a self-serving popcorn machine that is falling apart, we had people squeezing their way through the popcorn and bumping into our table and chairs the entire time we were there.
Our server, a mid 40’s-looking-like male that could not get his s* together. He brought us tasteless sodas, he brought a new one and asked very salty if this one was better, unfortunately it wasn’t so we told him so. He did not like this. Not our problem, if the soda machine is not working just say so and we’ll order something else, is not that hard. If this is a regular thing in the place well that’s even worse.
If you come to the bar no one will help you, they will pretend like you’re not even there.
They have both tv and radio on ridiculously loud, trying to have a conversation over lunch is impossible!
The chandeliers hanging right above the table and your food are disgusting! You can see all the dust accumulated on them. Floor is sticky, cloth napkins were dirty. Back to our server and service, one of the meals in our tables Prather was a burger, he told us they came with fries, but when the meal arrived there was no fries; when we asked for them he said “oh you don’t get any, you have to order it separately because burgers don’t come with sides” EXCUSE ME, a $15 plain burger with no sides? And on top of that a lie at the beginning of the service just to get us to order?
We thought it was a good place to have Sunday family lunch, we were so disappointed. And unfortunately the flavor wasn’t that great to ignore all of the above.
Needless to say, we won’t be...
Read moreWe had multiple recommendations for Grease Buger Bar, so when deciding on our first lunch stop, we thought, why not give it a shot. The atmosphere was exceptional & when we first walked in, we were greeted and taken to a table.
Our server, Sawyer, was by a short time later & was initially very engaging & grabbed my attention immediately by introducing himself in a unique way..."my name is Sawyer, like Tom Sawyer, & I'll be your server today." That was great & I was really encouraged. He had some great recommendations on food & we placed our order.
It was shortly after taking our food order that Sawyer started to drift. He didn't revisit our table until our food arrived.
The positive: The food was extremely fresh, you can tell everything is made from scratch.
The disappointment: The burgers we ordered were very bland, lacked any real flavor & the buns were HUGE but dry. I assumed, based on many of the reviews, the food would be rocking with flavor, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The chili was very runny, almost watery.
Food & Service Issues: We had a couple of issues. The Black & Blue Burger was supposed to come with bacon but didn't. It took almost 10 minutes for Sawyer to return with it. It was very charred, basically burnt, on the bottom. The Mr. Bigg Buger was supposed to come with Lettuce & Pickle but didn't. We asked Sawyer for some but he never returned with any.
Overall, very disappointing, but it's possible this could be a 1 off situation. I'm not sure if we would go back, but a restaurant with some many great reviews & personal recommendations tells me this...
