I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past 15 years with my daughters softball team with rooms of 10 or more every time. I was never told that we the guest of the hotel could not all order pizza and sit in the lobby and eat together. This is what happened when we chose this hotel for our guest to stay for my daughters wedding. We all got together and decided to order pizza and salad and eat in the lobby that us there for guest to use. the hotel manager was so rude and nasty and demanded that I give her my credit card to use the room. She started at $50.00 and when I tried to discuss this with her calmly explaining that in all my years at staying at different hotels we have never been told we could not use the lobby(breakfast) room to eat food together. She then told me that she would charge me 500.00 if she wanted to. Of course I told her she was crazy and there was no way she could make us do this. She then proceeded to tell me she could throw all of our guest out of the hotel if I refused to pay. when I agreed to pay she then proceeded to tell me that I had to pay 150.00 because of my attitude. Of course I paid because this was my daughters wedding and what was I going to do if I had know where for my guest to stay. She then proceeded to tell me if the place was not left clean she would charge me more money. Of course we were going to clean the area. I have done this hundreds of times and had never ever been told we did not leave the area clean. When I asked the manager to please come look and make sure the area was clean before we left to go down town for the night she refused. I would not leave the hotel until someone checked this off that the area was clean because I obviously did not trust this crazy woman with all of the power. she then proceeded to call the cops on me and told me I was harassing her. She walked over and checked the area and then complained that a pillow was out of place. She had nothing else to complain about. From that point on she treated all of our guest rude and then did not pass out the welcoming bags to our guest as she promised. She has charged our guest who did not use the valet parking on their credit cards and refuses to remove from their bill. I however used valet and I have to say the valet staff was great. They felt sorry for us because they know how the manager is. She needs to be let go. My sister has also been a hotel manager for over 20 years and could not believe the way this GM was behaving. We were afraid to all meet up at breakfast for fear she would charge my card again for all showing up together. I thought that was the purpose of staying at the same hotel. My daughters wedding cost us 40,000.00 so trust me paying the fee was not that I could not afford it. It was the principle. DO NOT STAY at THIS HOTEL unless you want to be...
Read moreWe travel every couple weeks for a few days and religiously stay at the Marriott. Generally I would not stay at a residence in because of the room quality. This being a new hotel downtown, it looked like a great option. The reviews were better than the full service marriott, so we chose to go with the newer location and slightly better reviews. But, those reviews are definitely short lived. The staff is not trained to take care of their guests. The light system requires that a room key be left in the light switch in order for it to work. Because of this, I accidentally left my room without the key at midnight when I walked across the hall to my sister's room. My husband went down stairs with my ID to get a key because I made the reservation in my name. The second rude and not helpful front desk employee refused to give him a key. I can see where she was coming from because he could have maybe been lying although I am confidant she recognized him from earlier in the day. But, insisting that I personally walk downstairs at midnight in my nightgown with wet hair was completely ridiculous. On top of this, when I met her at the front desk, she let me know that their computer was down and I would need to be followed upstairs with a male security guard three times my size in middle of the night. The elevator ride alone with this man while I stood in my nightgown was infuriating. Here I am, fresh out of the shower, wet hair, red Olga nightgown with the 300lb 6'3'' body builder that was supposed to do what? Let me into my dark room alone? If there was a security guard that could let someone into my room, maybe she could have asked him to ride upstairs with my husband to make sure my drivers license actually matched my face and I was willing to let him into our room. You know, maybe she could have realized that it was an absolutely horrible idea to have a huge man escort a half naked woman up to her hotel room at midnight.
This was just the second rude incredibly unfortunate experience of four that we had before deciding to check out two days early.
Now we are at Eau Palm Beach Resort. It's absolutely amazing. Only a few dollars more with a beach front view, service on point and they even have real cribs for babies instead of 'pack and play'... Not to mention the stunning decor. Spend a few more dollars to feel like a...
Read moreNov 18, 2021-- My Best Friend booked this hotel for me and my family to stay in town because I live in PSL and was having my Bridal Shower in Lake Worth. On Thursday night at about 930 pm I arrived at the hotel and my best friend met me downstairs to help bring up some items for the party to the room. Once we were settled into the room, there was a knock at the door around 1130ish.
Just the two of us talking in the living room and a boom knocking on our door from the night security officer. My friend opens the door with a swing lock-on door and asks him, “ what was the problem?” He state we were making too much noise and we 👀 at each other and said we were just talking in the room.
Fast Forward to 1:30 am and another banging knock on the door and this time it's Mr. Rude West Palm Bch police office who didn’t access the area to see if he heard any noise coming from our room, by the way, we were both in bed sleeping at this time and the room was completely dark. No noise to be 👂, however, he comes to yelling, aggressive, and hands-on his gun after seeing two Black Women at the door asking him why was he knocking and yelling.
Next-Day Friday, Nov 19, 2021-- I woke up and went down to the desk to get change from the hotel desk rep and was standing in line to overhear a “Karen” with two white dogs in the stroller, complaining about us and making noise and how she called the security officer and WPB police. And that people like “us” she look 👀 back at me shouldn't be allowed to stay. Now keep in mind the hotel clerk is also Black🤔. Well, after she left I spoke to the clerk, then she ask if we would like to move to another room. We were moved to another floor in a 2/2 hotel room that was so beautiful.
Even though everything works out I need to still give my experience and thank the Clerk and the assistant manager for handling this situation. I bet after we moved Karen still claim we were...
