Maybe I caught them on a bad day, or maybe the locals who are giving such great reviews don't know what good food is. Either way. This has been the worst hibachi I've ever eaten. I ordered Hibachi Steak and Shrimp over the phone. The lady I spoke to was polite and to the point. The shrimp tasted like it was pulled out of a pond. The steak... Oddly enough tasted like blood. Now, I eat my steak medium rare typically. I'm not afraid of juice. I'm saying the steak tasted like the cow wasn't drained properly of its blood. I don't know. I've never had this happen before. The rice was soggy and flavorless. The broccoli was undercooked and the carrots were overcooked mush. There was hardly any seasoning or flavor on the meat, veggies or rice. I had no trouble with the service, the people working there when I picked up my order seemed nice. The restaurant appeared clean, albeit mostly empty. The food was very cheap, only $10.75 for Hibachi Steak and Shrimp. Even though it was very affordable and the service was nice, the food was beyond subpar. I certainly will not be coming back. In response to the owner's reply below: This is nothing personal, I was just very disappointed after the excitement of local hibachi with seemingly food reviews led me to try your restaurant. If we only posted good reviews and never any "bad comments" as you put it, then the whole review system would be untrue, undependable and inaccurate!

I would give no STARS if I could worst experience of my life. I ordered shrimp and chicken plate (I do this about 2-3 times a week! Always tip $3) this time the shrimp was uncooked. I called them and told them they said I could come in that day or the next day. I come in the next day and tell them I’m here to pick up the shrimp order and they give me a plate I walk all the way home. And there is a spoon full of rice and 4 pieces of shrimp. I called them and told them and they said all they give me is the shrimp because that’s all that was wrong. I walk up there once again and bring them the plate which I will provide a picture of, and they tell me to never come back. they are the worst place to go to and I would highly never recommend to anyone

2nd time is definitely not the charm. Quality of food is mediocre at best, quantity of food for takeout is a joke, and order accuracy is a no-go as well. Menu photo shows items that aren’t available, specifically fresh carrots. Apparently no mushrooms means to serve mushrooms. Good thing it’s just preference and not an allergy. Broccoli must be getting expensive because the amount served was almost nonexistent. Needless to say it’s not worth the nearly $50 and there will not be a 3rd visit.

Ive eaten here several times since the grand opening and hadnt had a problem til about 2 months ago. Ive called and placed pick up orders 4 times in the last 2 months and have repeatedly explained that i have an allergy to carrots and was told twice that they would substitute the carrots for the other vegetables. Those first 2 pick up orders i STILL had carrots served with my food so i was not able to eat it. I called and they said they would make it right but never got around to doing so. The last 2 times i placed orders i was told that even though i had a food allergy i could only have my carrots substituted for extra rice which i dont think amounts to the cost of the carrots. Mind you i still hadnt been reimbursed for my prior orders or given any kind of coupon, discount, etc. So after this last attempt at trying to make myself an order that i could actually enjoy ive completely thrown in the towel. I was met with attitude on now 3 of these 4 occusions, hung up on abruptly, left hungry and embarassed. And to top it all off i was charged $2.00 for a small half-filled ramekin of Sriracha. As much as i had hope for this restaurant because its a new one for this area and there arent too many places between Anderson and Greenville, this one in particular will be a hard miss from me. My family will not be eating here and my friends have begun to step back too. Best of...

I heard about this place on the local Facebook page so me and my husband wanted to go and give it a try. I can honestly say that I loved this place so much that I definitely will be back I got the teriyaki steak plate cooked well done all plates come with sweet carrots and fried rice or steamed rice I got fried rice also it came with broccoli it was so yummy and a great big portion size the only complaint that I have is I wish I would have gotten more of the sweet carrots and that's just because they were so good I wanted more of them ā˜ŗļø my husband got the hibachi steak plate cooked well done with fried rice and sweet carrots and his came with mushrooms instead of broccoli I haven't seen him clean his plate in a long time but he did today. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was awesome it was super clean and fresh feeling definitely something our little downtown needed and I'm so glad it's something different like Japanese cuisine which is my all time favorite food! Also the sauces were so good I ate the shrimp sauce and teriyaki sauce both were delicious my husband ate the spicy shrimp sauce and he loved it! Definitely will be back again this week sometime and will be a loyal customer to baby sumo. So definitely go give them a try you won't...
