Mill Town Place — Restaurant in West Pelzer

I am writing this review about a review posted in reference to the lady in the wheelchair that has Alzheimer’s and the daughter that takes care of her. I am a part time caretaker for them and I can assure you that Shirley is well taken care of, I work 3 days a week and we have eaten at your place many times and we always have had good food and good service, but because of this incident and calling 911 and having police come to the house is just not right. If Rita was hitting or beating her mother that would be reason to call but speaking to her mother in a stern way is not. It’s like you would speak to a child…because that is what dealing with an Alzheimer’s patient is like, they don’t remember to eat and drink and leave items on the table alone. But you want to get out of the house and treat them occasionally to the public so you have to be firm with instructions. All I am saying is you would have 911 on speed dial if you called for every parent with kids!!!!

My first time stopping in this town of West Pelzer. We ended up dining twice in a weeks time. This 'home town feel' establishment is a must, if youre passing through. Upon entry, there are large menus displayed on the walls. Once seated, we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming waitress. She recited the specials, served our drinks and took our orders. Its not as small inside, as it first appeared to me. Lots of seating. ( outdoor seating available, also) There were 5 of us that ordered each visit. Calabash chicken plate, cheesesteak plate, meatloaf plate, shrimp plate, chopped steak and burgers were exceptional. Service was outstanding on both visits. Our orders were correct, fresh and fast. Nice atmosphere to eat and unwind. Definite 'family feel' here. We each plan on frequenting Mill Town, despite the distance from where we live. Its just that good! Prices are very inexpensive compared to others in the area, with Mill Town providing large portions, many options, full flavor and fresh every time. Keep up the great service! I've been here 4 or more times, and it's been excellent each time. EXCEPT TONIGHT! The food was phenomenal as always cook to order and great flavor. Our waitress is what caused the experience not so pleasant. Our food sat under the heat lamp waiting to be picked up for over 5mins, we asked for things such as silverware, condiments and it never arrived. And when we asked a young waitress who was clearly off the clock if we could pick our food up she brought it to us. (Thankfully)When our waitress came (named Sandra) she complained told us that is she didn't tell someone else to bring us our food and i myself politely let her know I asked someone. When letting the older lady at the cash register know about it. She acted as if she didn't care and shrugged her shoulders.. said she just got back from medical leave. By far if this happened again, this kind service will keep me out the doors. No matter how good the food is. There are far more places to get good food...
