Kick'n Mule Restaurant — Restaurant in West Sacramento

Decided to try this place while my car was getting serviced nearby. I got their right after they opened and I couldn't believe how badly my wife and I were treated. We sat down and I asked what kind of soda they had and decided I would rather have the soda I brought with me since they didn't serve the soda I like. So i asked for a couple cups of ice. The server seemed surprised by this but complied. I poured our sodas into the cups of ice and as the server came back to the table to take our order she was smirking and laughing at us. Then i saw her shaking her head as she walked away. She came back a few minutes later to say that she notices we brought our own drinks and restaurants don't allow that but she will let it go this time. I said we didnt see any sign that said outside drinks werent allowed and no other restaurant we have been to has had a problem with it. She said it could be a health code violation if we provide our own drinks which doesn't make any since. When they finally brought our food my order of a bacon cheesburger was wrong because the rude server wasnt paying attention when I told her my order. This server obviously had a problem with us and wanted to harass us as soon as we walked in. So i would go any other restaurant in sacramento before supporting such a discriminatory low quality restaurant as kick’n mule.

Update: I think the response from the restaurant speaks volumes about their character. You would think if this bothers them so much they would just post a sign saying no outside food or drinks. Most restaurants don't care and the ones that do protect themselves legally by posting a sign. I appreciated the very specific chicken nugget...

I have heard rumor of the food at the kick n Mule for several weeks. Don't let the the category of sports bar scare you away. I usually think of sports bars as more about drinking and extra loud tv with barely enable food. That is not the case here. Chef Luis is on point with his food.

Being I heard such wonderful things about the food we came ready to eat. We started off with several appetizers. We tried the onion rings, potato spring rolls, fried calamari jalapeño poppers. We loved each one for different reasons. If I'm being totally honest the onion rings were my least favorite.

We moved onto our main course. We had the bowl of chili (to die for). The crab melt (beautifully plated and delicious, steak sandwich (perfectly cooked Medium rare and tender as can be), sirloin flatbread.

We finished off our food fest with dessert. Reese's peanut butter cheesecake (to die for), Grand Marnier cheesecake, and mango bread putting(amazing).

The bar and grill serves till midnight in west Sac there is no excuse for people in this area to go without when needing a late night meal or anytime for that matter.

You can enjoy just amazing appetizers or a meal or a perfect dessert. This kitchen is seasoned with love. From one chef to another thank you chef Luis. You are appreciated. I also need to add great...

Let me tell you about my Wifes and I's experience. First of all this place is an absolute joke. We walked in and were instantly greeted and then informed on how to look at the digital menu. After that we were not spoken to again for another 30 minutes. There was a waitress there that was more engulfed in a conversation with another table that she kept visiting and eating food with. Multiple times we had made eye contact and then still we were completely ignored. After the time had passed we were finally greeted, again by the same person that originally greeted us. After taking our order, another 15 minutes passed before we were even given our drinks. The bartender did not know how to make a long island iced tea, it was very apparent that she did not know what she was doing. Our order was finally brought to us by the waitress that was not doing anything. She handed us our food and before we were even given the chance to say Thank You, she was walking away and in a smug tone said, "Your welcome".

This place was terrible. With all the good reviews on here, we were extremely excited to try this place. Needless to say, there will not be a next time. I really wish I could give a negative...
