I'm docking 3 stars, not because of the food itself... the food was delicious, but sadly some of the service and atmosphere was not. First I want to say there were 2 servers on the floor, one was a young man, the other a young woman. The young man was beyond friendly and helpful throughout the visit, unfortunately it was the young woman I had an issue with.
One thing I noticed the floors were not clean, the very table we sat at had food particles underneath it and when we got there, there was a table who just finished eating and their table was not cleaned the entire duration of our visit and we were there for nearly 2 hours.
Here's where it gets really sad, there were flies everywhere! So I calmly asked the waitress is there anything that can be done about the flies? Because we were literally swatting at them every minute... her response: I can't be going around chasing flies... no apologies, no thought of how gross it was. I was speechless. She walked away.
After that I had to take my mother, who is in a wheelchair to the bathroom, mind you our food hadn't come yet. We use the bathroom and we get back to the table and guess what we see... our food on the table... guess what was all over it... the flies.
I'm literally standing there watching as the flies are all over the food and again just speechless and grossed out and I look around to see the waitress, working, yes, but just oblivious. I'm sorry, but if I know there are flies all over and I see that the customers are not at the table, I would not have the gall to just place their food there like it's ok. We literally sat there for a moment watching the flies, because they didn't just fly away. And not once did the waitress come our way, so I finally got up and went to the young man who originally took care of us and told him, the moment he heard he immediately apologized and was totally aghast at the situation. He quickly took our plates and got them re done. After that the young man was very attentive to our table.
Again, the food was very good, but sadly because of that situation it will take me a while to visit that place again. :(
Replying to the message from the restaurant: With all due respect, not once did I blame the waitress for the flies. That's ridiculous. It was her response and attitude in regards to them that I had an issue with, as well as, the thoughtlessness to make sure not to leave food out when the customer is not at the table, knowing there are flies around. I'm glad to hear you will be doing something in regards to the issue of flies, but I would also make sure to let your staff know to have a little more tact and better customer service in the future. Had the response been much different, trust me the flies wouldn't have been a huge issue and my review would have been much better. We still took the chance to eat there even with the flies everywhere, that should tell...
Read moreMy friend and I stopped by here for lunch on our way to the museums nearby. The tea menu was quite extensive and was separated by type: oolong, black, white, green, herbal and red. The all of the teas were organic and sourced from the local tea company in North Camden. The teas varied in price from $3.60-10.95 per cup. You can also get the tea in a pot or a samovar (a Russian device for making concentrated tea and heating water to dilute the tea to your liking). The tea flight was the best deal where you get a pot of any 3 teas from the menu for $15. The pots were a good size holding about 3-4 cups in each, so it is a good option for a group or a very thirsty individual. I tried the Phoenix Mountain which was a full bodied oolong with notes of honey, spice and exotic fruits. It definitely was a unique oolong that had a pleasant spicy finish. It was good alone or with a touch of honey. My second choice was the melon pear white tea that captured the best notes of a Bartlett pear and honeydew melon. It was my favorite. My final selection was Rainforest Mint that was a Yerba mate infuse with mint. It was a refreshing burst of mint with a earthy undertone.
Savory crepes were fully customizable where you choose a protein, sauce and can add as many vegetables as you want. Surprisingly there was no extra charge for avocado, but there was an extra charge for mushrooms. I opted for a large crepe filled with spicy chicken, asparagus, spinach, avocado, and carrots with a side of white mushrooms sauce. The crepe resembled a sizable burrito when it arrived. The spicy chicken was well seasoned and had a respectable heat level. It worked well with all of my vegetable selections. The white mushroom sauce was a garlic cream of mushroom sauce that was a welcome addition. Crepe was thin, but strong enough to hold everything.
Definitely will be returning to try out more teas and some...
Read moreI have been desperately waiting to eat here since the morning my SIL told me of the mythical place that made delicous crepes like nowhere else... Shockingly it wasn't a 4 hour drive in Boston to get to! Finally, my day came, and I was not disappointed! I ordered a large (I hadn't eaten since the afternoon of the day before & had been on the road since 5am w/2 kiddos w special needs, but had been awake and getting things ready since way before, so I was hangry & thought I would be able to eat an entire barn sized crepe) with warm chocolate & puffy cream cheese (which sounded yummy but I wasn't sure, so I asked our waitress who was fantastic, I was so exhausted & not ky usual self, that I didn't get her name to mention, which I've been seriously regretting since; now she can't get her well deserved shout out. She is a tall, thin, blonde hair (worn up in a ballerina type bun at the crown of her head), I will see if I can get her name, if she is ok with me posting it, I'm happy to edit this. She was extremely friendly, and happy to share her knowlege & preferences with me, which after I ordered, I completely agreed with! Pricing is absolutely competive for the size of the crepe! My son is 4yrs, he is non-verbal autistic & is at times a picky eater, I got him the chicken nuggets & fries, which he loved; both tasted fresh, homemade. If not, well whatever branf they use I need to switch. The only part I'd say to watch out for is parking. I think there is a 2nd lot on the opposite side of the building. Street parking is legal, but with all of the tractor trailers maneuvering (I probably butchered that 🙄), let them have the extra room, bc no one ever makes their lives easier! Trust me I'm married...
