If there are any parents with children on the blue team (Andre's West Side Sports shop) in Kindergarten West Springfield baseball I strongly recommend they reconsider allowing their children to play for the coach on this team, I believe his name is Joe Judge.
I am a very involved parent with a passion for baseball and I actively encourage and coach my child from the sidelines. During the very first practice I was doing this and Mr. Judge did not seem to have any issue with it at all. I stated that I did not want to interfere but he did not seem to have a problem with it. He actually encouraged it, asked me to join in and coach my son during that first practice. Every game I stand close to the dugout and I offer coaching, encouragement and support for my child.
During a game on May 28th I was doing exactly what I stated above. I accidentally told my son to run home after reaching third base from second base (total mental blunder on my part). Total mistake on my part and I did tell my son to go back to third. He angrily approached me, pulled me aside, got in my face, no conservation, basically shouted at me to stop coaching my son and to let him do it, etc. etc. etc. No conversation, just dictating to another man not to coach his son. He pulled me aside, got in my face, and basically shouted for me to stop coaching and to let him do it. Completely inappropriate behavior from a person who is coaching little League. I have a right to encourage and coach my son. If the manner in which I was doing that was a problem then there is a right way to handle that by speaking to me appropriately. The way Mr. judge handled this was inappropriate, disrespectful and frankly he shouldn't be coaching kindergarten baseball ⚾ if he has a problem with parents encouraging their kids.
I plan to pull him off this team and let everyone I know in West Springfield not to play for this man on his team. Completely shameful conduct to tell a parent he can't coach his son.
This man should be removed from coaching...
