West Side Bar & Grill — Restaurant in West Springfield

Worst food Ive had at a restaurant in years. My wife got the buffalo fish sandwich and said that the fish was cool when she bit into it. I had the buffalo chicken wrap which also came well under a safe temp. Unfortunately, the two bites I took and swallowed was enough to give me food poisoning last night. Also, the piece of chicken didn’t come in a wrap. It came on a bulky roll despite me asking for it on a wrap. It was the skinniest smallest piece of chicken I’ve ever seen served in my life. Still just two bites of it was enough to get me sick as a dog. This place clearly doesn’t train their cooks to be safe serve certified. No, we didn’t send the food back. We just asked for the bill and left. We were one of three tables in the establishment at the time, there was no rush at all. If you can’t safely, serve food to three tables there’s no point in sending the food back to get it right because you’re obviously a careless disaster. The waitress was also below average at best. After asking for the bill, she stopped to eat her own food for a couple of minutes before bringing...

Everything was spot on. When it wasn't our waitress made it right. Once inside the doors the din of conversation made it clear that people were enjoying their time. There were a few tables open and we were seated immediately. By the time we left the wait was out the door though. Our dinner consisted of plates of sides. I had a salad and fried clam strips. Shout out to Lauren here, who saved the evening. The salad was not what I expected and I was resigned to eating my poor choice when Lauren came by to check on us. I let her know my disappointment and she insisted on making it right. Within 5 minutes she returned with a great salad. The clam strips were excellent with minimal breading. Fried calamari was praise worthy, beware of a sweetness, maybe a sauce drizzle, if you don't like that. Hand cut chips were excellent and wings were also very good. I had high hopes going in, but left disappointed. It was cute with decorated windows and a Christmas tree, but I think understaffed as service was super slow, even for water refills. I ordered ribeye, but they were out. Settled for “baseball” which i hadn’t heard of but ordered medium. It was brown all the way through and I think I’m still chewing. The green beans could have used a few more minutes as they were almost raw. The mashed potatoes were dry and lukewarm. We had already waited so long I just said things were “ok”. Girlfriend ordered the Tuscan flatbread. The flavor was good, and more moist than my steak, but the prosciutto was tough and super thick, more like Canadian bacon.
