This maybe a weekend issue but good god was it a horrible thirty-dollar transaction. I have to say I have never had a delivery go so bad.
Here's the play-by-play of the train wreck.
On 3/16/2024 (Saturday) At 7:59 P.M. I placed an order for 1 extra-large pepperoni pizza for delivery. Lady that answered the phone was pleasant took my order and it was $25+$5 tip. She stated your pizza will be there in 45 minutes. I wait until 9:15 P.M. on the dot because I understand it's a Saturday night and things are busy. New woman answers the phone and I say, "Hey there, I'm just checking on our order". Her response, "well we are down a driver, and we moved our delivery times to an hour". I respond by saying "Ok, it's been an hour and fifteen minutes. Why did you not tell us this in the beginning of the order. Has the pizza left the store yet"? She responds, "No the pizza hasn't left the store ye". At this point she gives me two options 1. Void the order and refund my money. 2. We can get a Door Dash guy to bring it to you. By this point it's almost 9:20 P.M. We live in Morgantown and there's less options the later it gets here. So, I say "No, we would like our pizza we ordered but please don't send us the one you made originally as it will be cold". She sarcastically responds, "We are not going to send you a pizza that's been sitting out all day". Finally, at 9:57 P.M. we receive our cold pizza from Door Dash. I call for a third time and ask for the General Manager's phone number and I get another woman that is pleasant, she responds "I can't give you the manager's number, but I can take your number down and have them call you back. It'll probably be Monday." Then she says, "While I have you let me void the payment for the pizza." It's been 4.5 days no response from the GM.
Valuable lesson learned thanks to Papa John's. Never tip in advance on a card.
Also, if you value your hard-earned money and want to order a pizza for delivery here, especially on the weekend, repeated ask if they are being truthful with their delivery time estimation. I personally doubt I will ever order from here again. There are way better places to order pizza in Morgantown, but this is what my friend said would be the best location wise for delivery. Lesson learned.
I have left multiple awesome reviews for other places to go in Morgantown I'd strongly suggest checking out anywhere else...
Read moreI ordered dinner for my family at 658pm today. I always order from the same place and I order often. I usually do carryout but tonight I was exhausted so I chose delivery. My order did not arrive until 825pm and it was only half my order. The driver had no idea, said he had one more stop and would run back and get it. The one pizza I did receive was cold, and it was the one my kids won't eat. So I called. The guy said he would get his manager. He only told her I was upset my food was cold, but not that I didn't receive it all either. She told him to tell me I can get a refund or use their quality guarantee to get my food remade. Call me crazy but I feel as though I should've gotten my food remade for free and a quality guarantee to use on a future order or a refund. This really makes me not want to order from there anymore and Papa Johns is the only place I like. Annoyed and irritated would be an...
Read moreI typically only order pizza from Papa Johns when there's a promotion out. For Morgantown, WV, $22.00ish for a chain restaurant pizza with two toppings is just too much. However, when I can get the same thing for $10 with the promotion or special, I can get on board. We hardly ever deal with customer service (we always order online for pickup), so I have nothing to comment there. As far as quality though, the pizza is always done ahead of quoted wait times and is delicious. The only time I've ever been disappointed was once when our veggie-laden pizza was a soggy in the middle... everyone gets one free pass though. Too bad they don't serve the butter garlic with a straw...
For what this place is, I give it 5 stars and would recommend it...
