A very mixed experience. Overall it was a roller coaster. The chips and salsa were pretty good with nice warm chips and nice medium spicy salsa. The drinks were very well done also. Nice pineapple margarita and long island. Tasty 😋 drinks. Then things took a turn....we both ordered fajitas usually a super safe and guaranteed crowd pleaser. Well .... We didn't hear our order coming It should have been the first clue. The chicken and shrimp fajitas well ...they look like they sat there for a while. The place was kinda slow because it was a Monday so it's not like they were busy. The plates were kinda warm. Not really hot at all and not cold. Just kinda warm. They always warn you don't touch the sizzling plates. Not a concern here. Stephanie was a pretty good waitress and I asked her about the lackluster plates and she said they are using a newer system and that 18 year olds shouldn't be touching sizzling plates. The funny thing is one of the shirts of the staff said " always sizzling" ...no no it's not. The chicken was really dry and the beans looked like it was all sitting in the window for awhile. The tortillas were scalding super hot . I wish my plate was even half as hot as the tortillas were. I could barely hold the tortillas. They skimped as there were barely any veggies on either plate. The shrimp was ok it was also just kinda warm. The meal started off great but flopped pretty hard for 20+ per plate. Overall disappointing due to the lackluster meals. It's the first time my girlfriend didn't want a box to take home . Can't blame her the chicken looked pretty pathetic and dry on the plate. I saw other plates coming out sizzling ....so why didn't ours? Obviously it can be done.... Maybe not let the food sit in the window? Chili's can do it why can't you ?

This place is NOT the place to go for a real Mexican food experience. This location specifically seems to be in a continuing downward spiral of quality. The wait staff here are uninspired by leadership and many of them wouldn't know good Mexican food if it followed them home and slapped them. When this location opened, it was a different story. It was a decent place for fast fajitas and grilled food with the highlight being fresh table made guacamole. The grilled veggies had a fresh variety of peppers, carrots, onions and squash. Now the grilled items look precooked with the veggies being overcooked and no variety, just zucchini. What's worse, the fajitas take a long time to arrive, and the guacamole is priced higher than the entrees. These criticisms are not COVID19 related. The epidemic just shortened an already cutdown menu and eliminated all flavor from the kitchen. The tortillas have gone from soft, thin and fresh, to dried out quickly, fat and barely good tasting. The quality issues have been in play for the last 5-6 years. Whereas we would regularly go once a month, we now only go once a quarter when we just can't think of anywhere else to go. UPDATE: We just ate there again and here's the deal. The veggies are still soggy, but now they've added more red peppers ( not a lot, just more). See photo. Additionally, they are charging $7 for 2 ice cream scoops of pre-made guacamole. For $7, one would hope to have an entire bowl of guacamole, not tiny plops. They must believe that the avocado is an endangered species. They portion and charge like the trees upon which they grow are being held hostage.

Regret going again after years. The service and food is terrible. On a weekday also they are not able to serve good food for the price we pay. Firstly, we went on a silent Wednesday night, there were empty tables and booths but the host said there was 10-15 mins wait. We sat at the high table but didn’t have service for next 10-15 mins no response from any servers. They seem to be understaffed. Food- We ordered Crab dip - was okayish not that great was way too cheesy then being crabby Fish tacos - was inedible, the fish was oily and smelly. Shrimp tacos - were good. Recommend these amongst all other options. Also the sides rice and beans were inedible they were dry and looked stale We told our server Devon - he was very sorry and apologised multiple times. He was very kind and polite for understand what happened to the dish. So the one star goes to only him and his service. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

So I hear this location is under new management! You need to tighten up or you will be closing your doors soon! After a long day I decided to treat my twin daughters and myself, this is where one of them wanted to go. I have always liked the food here, but after last night, I will never visit THIS location again! We waited a few minutes in an empty restaurant finally to be greeted by a host. Once greeted she walked to sit us and each table she took us to was dirty. None of the tables had been cleaned. There were dirty dishes and soiled tables. After the third table that she walked to we were seated at a table with old torn seats. A waitress finally made her way over after apologizing for the wait, but stated she was talking with two male customers for a while and had to go to the bathroom. She took our drink orders and order. One of my girls did not order anything as she wanted something from another place that I was going to stop at on the way home. She brought back the drinks. My daughter asked for straws and I asked for an order of guacamole as I don’t eat the salsa, because the salsa is always too spicy for me. She said she would be right back. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands as the menus were nasty. They were sticky and wet. When I came back she still had not returned with at least straws. My girls said she had been at a table across the room chatting with two males seated eating their food since she left our table. We watched as she stood at their table talking with them with her back turned for over 30 minutes. She finally goes to the back then comes to our table and says that our food would be out shortly. I told her ok, but what happened to the straws and the order of guacamole that I ordered. She says that she forgot and went to go get it. At this point my girls had eaten the chips and salsa that was provided when we were first seated. I told her that I no longer wanted the order of guacamole. I asked for new drinks as the current drinks were watered down from waiting for straws for so long. She apologized and said that the guys were old family friends that she had not seen in years and that it was her 21st birthday. The lady who originally sat us finally brought out our food and said that it was free for our long wait. I had her bring to go containers at this point because at this point it was 10pm and I was very agitated and didn’t even want the food! While I appreciate the gesture, the whole experience was very unprofessional and I have never experienced such. Before we left the table one of my daughters threw up the salsa she had consumed while waiting. I get home and my other daughter who did not order anything wakes up in the middle of the night throwing up salsa and with bad diarrhea. She did not even eat the food that I got her on the way home because it was late and she was tired. I find it strange how they both got sick and they are the only ones who consumed the food from your establishment. I didn’t eat anything as it was to late and I honestly didn’t trust the food at this point. Again I did not have the salsa because I ordered the guacamole. All this said, again I will never visit this establishment again. It was a horrible experience from the time we walked through the door and even after we got home! New management needs to tighten up or you will be losing a lot of business if this is how you are...

Title: An Authentic Mexican Culinary Experience at On The Border Mexican Grill

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at On The Border Mexican Grill, and I must say, it was a delightful experience that left me craving for more. As a lover of Mexican cuisine, I was intrigued by the positive reviews and decided to give it a try. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for what turned out to be a fantastic meal.

The restaurant's interior had a vibrant and festive ambiance, with colorful decorations and Mexican-inspired artwork adorning the walls. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that every need was met throughout the entire evening. Their knowledge about the menu and willingness to offer suggestions made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

Now, let's talk about the highlight of the evening: the food. On The Border certainly knows how to deliver when it comes to authentic Mexican flavors. The menu offered a wide range of options, from classic dishes to innovative creations, providing something for everyone. I started with their famous tableside guacamole, which was prepared right in front of me and packed with fresh ingredients. The creamy texture and perfectly balanced flavors were a great way to kick off the meal.

For the main course, I opted for the fajitas, and I was not disappointed. The sizzling platter arrived at my table with tender strips of marinated chicken, bell peppers, and onions. The portion size was generous, and the meat was juicy and full of flavor. The accompanying tortillas were soft and warm, allowing me to create my own delectable fajita wraps with the various condiments provided.

The drink selection was equally impressive, with a range of margaritas and specialty cocktails that complemented the meal perfectly. I decided to try their signature margarita, and it was simply sublime. The balance of tequila, lime juice, and sweetness was spot-on, making it a refreshing and enjoyable accompaniment.

While the overall experience at On The Border was outstanding, there were a couple of minor areas where improvement could be made. The wait time for a table was a bit longer than expected, and the noise level in the restaurant was slightly higher than I would have preferred. However, these factors did not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment of the evening.

In conclusion, On The Border Mexican Grill provides a delightful dining experience with its authentic Mexican cuisine, warm ambiance, and attentive staff. The flavors are bold and satisfying, and the menu offers a diverse selection to cater to different preferences. Whether you're a Mexican food enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, I highly recommend giving On The Border a visit. It's a culinary journey that will leave you craving for more of their...

Where to even begin??? When we arrived at the location at 5:15 pm we were seated promptly, however we were then not acknowledged. We ended up having to walk back up to the host to ask if a server would be with us after waiting over 10 minutes. We nicely let them know that we would have to leave by 6:15 to get to a movie (giving us an hour to order and get our food). Once our server Jaquay came over he let us know he would be serving us, we then let him know that we had a movie to get to and we are ready to place our drink and food order. He then proceeded to let us know that he had to go get us one more set of silverware and did not take our orders at that time. Ten plus minutes went by and Jaquay had not come back to give us the silverware or take our order still! We went back to the host to track him down and when he arrived he still did not even apologize for being MIA. When he started to take our order he let us know that he will take our drink and food order - one of the people with us started by saying their food order and Jaquay chuckled and said "that's not a drink" which we did not find funny at all. After placing an order for the queso and guacamole duo he came back later and let us know that they were out of guacamole!! 15 mins later he comes back and says "they lied to me" and gave us guac. We waited 25+ minutes after ordering our food and asked Jaquay if there was any way he could check on our order and he said "I can't go back there and cook it myself" WOW. We were trying to be patient and 6:10 rolls around and we still did not have our food. I went to look for Jaquay and he was no where to be found, let the host know that we had to leave now and would need to pack our food to go after waiting an hour in the restaurant and still not having our food. We stood at the front of the restaurant for over ten minutes and Jaquay still did not come out of the back with our food or our bill. After watching our movie without getting to eat we had to separate all our meals and noticed that we never even received our tortillas for both the fajitas that were order. WE NEVER EVEN RECEIVED AN APOLOGY FROM ANYONE IN STORE WHICH HONESTLY WOULD HAVE MADE THINGS A LITTLE MORE BEARABLE. MYSELF AND EVERYONE WITH US WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION AGAIN. I HAVE ALSO SPREAD THE WORD TO OUR FRIENDS TO NEVER GO HERE IF THEY HAVE ANY INTENTION OF HAVING FOOD...
