We love this restaurant and have been there multiple times. Princeton is actually our favorite location out of locations we’ve been to (Edison, freehold, mt laurel, cherry hill) but unfortunately our experience was ruined by “Bonnie” on August 1st in Princeton NJ. We’ve been to this restaurant an embarrassing amount of times, as it is one of our favorites. She came over to us to “educate” us that my French 75 spritz would be $18 because she would have to open a split of prosecco and make a new button… (so sorry you have to work) Meanwhile the restaurant sells an aperol spritz for $14 which also includes prosecco. She had the nerve to try and explain this to me (that my drink required opening a bottle of Prosecco) as I saw someone with an aperol spritz in front of me….To be honest I could care less about the money and more about her distasteful personality that was completely rude and ruined our experience. As someone who’s looking for a good experience going out I could care less about how she has to ring my drink in her computer. I’ve also worked in many restaurants and bartend so being lied to about a drink is even more infuriating…She acted baffled that I would order this as it’s probably been over 50 times we’ve been there with the same drink, just not with Bonnie. Again I’ll happily pay the money but what I didn’t want to pay for is poor company and a power trip. We love this restaurant but if we ever have to deal with her personality again (again I don’t care about the price) I would leave this restaurant immediately. She made her restaurant problems our problems. She was rude and not professional. I love Tommy’s but we’ve had so many experiences there it makes me sad that we really had a waisted experience recently. I truly would have preferred staying home than having to deal with Bonnie and her ego. Thank god our server was nice because she was the only thing that savored our experience. Bonnie also tried to embarrass her other employees while being rude to me. Hopefully she doesn’t have a long experience at Tommy’s because her social skills need work . She truly is the worst manager we’ve experienced. And we love that a manager always asks us how our experience was…. But then we got Bonnie and we may...
Read moreI had called to report potentially bad ingredient(s) to a manager as my boyfriend experienced severe vomiting and bouts of diarrhea around 2 hours after consuming a Cubano Sandwich (please make sure to read the last line of the review if nothing else) and some Nachos. I was told by the manager that "it takes 8-12 hours for signs of food poisoning to show up. He most likely ate something bad earlier in the day, I don't think it was us."
This stated information is clinically incorrect. Also, anyone who has experienced severe food poisoning can attest to this. I had made it clear that the only purpose of my phone call was to report the dishes consumed and to make sure no one else experienced this as well. I stated that I was not looking for compensation or a refund. My boyfriend has no food allergies or gastrointestinal diagnoses/issues. If you experience any similar issues after eating here, be warned that you'll be told that it's not /their/ food that's the issue, it's you.
I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this left a bad taste in one's mouth (literally). This is a shame- I really enjoyed coming here with friends/family, but we will be avoiding this restaurant due to this response. I was trying to do the right thing and was gaslit. Completely unprofessional and shady.
Atmosphere is lively (lots of televisions) and service is okay. They advertise fresh scratch cooking with a rapid turnover of ingredients, but who knows now.
*I see another google review by "G Palad" who had posted one week prior to this situation and review for today. This individual also seems to have reported feeling sick "all night" after eating a CUBANO SANDWICH here, which is exactly what I had reported to...
Read moreThis food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!
My family treated me to Tommy's after taking the MCAT, and this food was definitely the treat I needed after a long day! There were so many good-sounding dishes on the menu so it was difficult to just sample a few things. We ended up getting the jumbo pretzel and calamari as apps and loved them both! I got the wings and focaccia bread as my main dish and they were both so good. The wings were so tender and tasted especially delicious when dipped in the buffalo sauce. The foccacia bread was some of the best that I've had as it was so warm and had a great chew to it. It was huge too so I'm glad I did not get the side of fries! My Mom loved the shrimp flatbread and my brother (whos a burger connoisseur) is still talking about the Cali Burger a week later! My only minor complaint about the food is that the drink, while good, were lacking in the presentation department. My brother had to ASK for cherries to be added to his Pina Colada!
My only other complaint is that the service could have been a little smoother. It took a while for us to be seated in a booth, and when we were seated, we were right by the kitchen, which was not ideal. It seemed that they were understaffed too because it took a while for us to get our second appetizer because someone "forgot" to bring it out, and our entrees took a little longer than standard to come out. Everyone was pretty friendly, though, and the manager (I think) made it a point to check in on us, which was kind.
Overall, I would 1000% come back to Tommy's! There are so many other things I look forward to trying...
