I wish we had read the reviews before, definitely would've kept walking by had we. We arrived in OOB and were starving, so as we were on our quest for sustenance this place grabbed our attention, I mean how could it not with the jamaican tunes blaring out the speakers or it could've also been because we were starving and this was the first place open we came upon. We walked in after a few long seconds was greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted, we sat was given some menus and asked what we would like to drink. Shortly after placed our order still waiting on our drinks. After a half hour we had to ask for them. After waiting an hour our entrees finally came out, with the said entrees we ordered beans, fries and the infamous mac and cheese. Five minutes later the fries came, fifteen minutes later we recieved our beans 2 days later and I'm still waiting on the mac and cheese. This was by far one of the worst experiences...
Read moreDisappointed due to the price to quantity ratios (after seeing people claim how much food they got), lack of flavor for rice/Mac n cheese, and how little meat was on chicken bones which felt rubbery. I spent $27 for one entree and an additional side, and besides rice, very little food for the price. Honestly a rip off for what goes into it... Gave it a shot for new place, might serve some crowds, but I'll pass this up next time. Hoping it's just because they're new and sorting stuff out. I've had places in my travels that blow this style food away for way less.
Update - Went back on own dime and same issues. Rip-off and poor, flavorless food except for rub. Appreciate the owner's response, but gave them a second chance and...
Read moreService and quality is below subpar. First, the tables weren't clean, the utensils and all the dishes were dirty, food presentation was not what you would expect. Unlimited Coffee is advertised but no cream and the server never comes back around to ask if more coffee is needed. Speaking of server, there is only one and in a very busy summer season it's less than ideal. Worker shortage is nationwide so understandable but everywhere else has accountaced for this so this establishment should do the same.
Nothing authentic about this food. No flavor or traditional Jamaican flair, such a missed opportunity to share the rich flavors of Jamaica with the people of Maine. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner should be an opportunity to enjoy...
