I absolutely hate having to be negative, but I do need to share how Jimmy V's has treated us. We visited on Friday, April 11th, 2014 at approximately 11:00pm at night since it is one of the only places in the area with a kitchen open.
We order drinks and get ready to order food. I ask the waitress if a specific dish has almonds in it because my eating partner has a food allergy, she says no. We order the dish to split and have a cocktail while waiting for our food.
As we are sitting there eating, the man I am with starts to get very uncomfortable, red, sweaty, hot and is starting to get small bumps on his lips.
I run up to the bartender/server who says "That dish is absolutely not made with almonds" when I ask her if she was sure there are no almonds in the dish. I asked her to please ask the cook, to double check, even if the almonds are in almond oil or something to cook with. She rolled her eyes and walks to the back.
She comes back wide-eyed and says " Actually it is made with almonds". I ask for the owner's phone number because I need to make a dash to get him out of the restaurant. He had already started towards the car. The bartender writes down the name Jessica and gives me the phone number of Brian? Obviously it does not get me to the owner, nor did I get a call back from the number.
I have called Jimmy Vs two more times in the last week to speak with them in regards to this situation. They have taken my name and number, promised that someone would call back and unfortunately have not been compassionate or helpful when trying to speak to management.
I have absolutely given enough chances for them to call me back. I am so bummed that we had such a bad experience because I wanted it to be a regular place to eat living right off of...
Read moreEight of us stopped in here for an early dinner at 4:45 on a Saturday. They had no tables to put us at so they stuck us in a corner booth that holds six people. Wouldn't have been too bad if it wasn't for the fact that two of us had to try to cram chairs into the edge of the booth, so neither one of us could get at the table to eat her food. In hindsight, we should have gone to one of the other restaurants there. Not their fault that there was more of us in a standard table holds, and they were already packed that early in the day. Our waitress was very nice and attentive and the food came out fast. One person's food they totally forgot to make, so that took maybe 15 minutes or so to get her her food. I ordered a patty melt and my toast was burnt pretty black both pieces. Everybody at the table was shocked that I wasn't sending it back being burnt. I figured as busy as they were who knows when I would ever get it replaced, so I just sucked it up and ate it, but it was not very good. So I definitely won't get that again. There were a variety of different meals ordered at the table, and traditional gyros had good reviews as well as the quesadilla. I'm not sure if I'll go back here again, but if I do I'll definitely try the...
Read moreThe food was really good. Cool vibes in the setting of the building, its decor, and a fun college based atmosphere. The food was so good! It did take some time, but it was well worth it. We had the chicken nachos which were so big and full of delicious chicken and fixings that we had to take our meals home with us! Definitely can be a meal in itself. My husband got the Cuban which was thickly cut on grilled bread and I got the gyro platter. The meat was tender and flavorful and the tzatziki sauce was definitely homemade! The fries are KILLER. Reminds me of a yummy fair fries. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. I didn’t get her name, but she was a bit older with glasses. She was working her butt of making sure our food was right. She let us sample a new sauce they were trying out and it was yummy! Really the only point off for atmosphere is for some reason halfway through our meal they turned the volume up on the music and it was so loud I could barely hear our waitress. Sorry I forgot to take a picture of the Cuban and Gyro platter on the plates we were so excited to try them out! Would come back again whether you like mediterranean food or not, the selection is plentiful. A little on the pricier side,...
