B's Bagels — Restaurant in Westfield

This. Is. Home. I wish I could give more than five stars because B’s Bagels deserves it. It’s completely off the charts. 1. The Food. The bagels are completely authentic New York style. As a New Yorker myself, I am critical when listed as “NY style” - and this did not disappoint. It was THE REAL DEAL. I was completely transcended at first bite. The bagels are Fluffy. Filling. Baked to Perfection. The assortment of spreads and toppings offers a variety of classic and creative, with flavor combinations I couldn’t have dreamed- all more delicious than the next. The baked goods, coffee, sides … all incredible.

I ordered the B Rich (a grilled cheese bagel, what?!?? Amazing!) and wanted to try their famous tuna salad - so I got a side. I literally hopped back in line for another sandwich (Cali) and dozen bagels to go. It was THAT good. This time, I treated myself to the Pretty Pretzels and cookies. O. M. G. The chocolate chip cookies were somehow crunchy AND soft with surprise Oreo bits in the middle. (Again, what?!?!)

The Team. Customer service is UNMATCHED. Everyone behind the counter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The owners themselves (!) were walking around to make sure everyone had what they needed, greeting customers as they came in, and simply saying hello and offering gratitude for supporting their local business. Lines out the door everyday - for good reason. It’s worth it!!!

The Establishment. The atmosphere is absolutely welcoming. It’s obvious they are grateful to be serving the community and are locals to Westfield. Gracious, friendly, genuine, super clean, and family-friendly. Filled with yummy smells, smiles and even bagel artwork!

Everything about B’s Bagels is fabulous. I rarely review but with a gem so special and rare - and the food this good, I couldn’t help but “spread the love” for B’s....

Side Door Bagel is good. Bagel Fair is really good. B’s Bagels is absolutely amazing. These are a true taste of home!!

I had stopped by on opening weekend but the line was longer than I’d allowed time for and had somewhere I had to be — and I haven’t been able to make it back during their opening hours since then — until today. Let me tell you: these were worth the wait.

These are easily as good as any bagel you’ll find in NYC or on Long Island (and getting bagels and pizza are my two must dos any time I’m back home, so let’s just say I’m a bagel expert). I almost wonder if they are importing NY water, since people say that’s why the bagels there are so good! A real NY bagel is all about the texture — a chewy inside and the perfect outer crust that makes a distinct sound when it’s done just right (and that you can usually only come close to getting by toasting your average non-NY bagel, and even then it’s not quite right).

Make sure to get there early as I was there around noon and most of the baskets (yes — proper metal baskets up on the wall like in an NYC bagelry) were empty or pretty close to it. Oh, and don’t miss the lox cream cheese! I’m not big on capers but this blend really...
