My parents and I decided to check out this restaurant because it just opened. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of choices on the menu. Prices were also great! Most of the choices seem to be Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese influenced. There are soups, pho, rice dishes, noodle dishes, and your typical appetizers and drink selections.
The food came out in good time, the staff (who I presume are also the owners) were very nice. My parents enjoyed the donburi and indonesian curry. I tried the indonesian curry and liked it. I ordered the mee goreng, which was a lot more basic than I expected and had less chicken than I wanted, but it was acceptable. For someone who doesn't like heavy flavors, the mee goreng might be a good choice. My thai iced tea was also good, just about the right sweetness for me, and I appreciated the mason jar.
For everyone who is familiar with the Metropolitan Deli, who used the space before deciding to focus on their catering business, Asian Plus inherited their tables and chairs, as well as the cavernous interior. Asian Plus made some updates to the space and colors, and also added plants, but I'd say the ambiance could use some further updating to suit them as a new restaurant. For example, I'd suggest adding some background music or hanging some art. The inside has very high ceilings, which can make the space feel extra quiet and impersonal.
Given that the restaurant is just starting, I think they will continue to slowly update the interior and ambiance. Main point is that the food was okay, priced well, and came out in good time. I recommend you give this place a try if you're curious about it. Support local business :)
Edit: If you're expecting authentic Asian food that you grew up with or ate in Asia, this might not be for you. I see those one-star complaining reviews coming in and that's a rather shallow way to judge...
Read moreI’ve ordered from this place many times through UberEats and other delivery services, and the food has always been excellent—consistently fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Unfortunately, my first dine-in experience was quite disappointing.
Less than five minutes after we were seated, the waitress came to take our order, and returned again shortly after—even though our menus were still open and we were clearly still deciding. The service felt rushed and uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, my dish was prepared incorrectly, despite my clear request for a vegetarian meal. I was served fried chicken instead of tofu, and was charged extra for it—even after I pointed out the mistake. My boyfriend, who does eat chicken, ended up switching meals with me because of the uncomfortable vibe we received when I mentioned the issue. Rather than offering to correct the order, the waitress almost argued, insisting she heard something different. When I politely raised the concern again, she responded with a strange attitude—though the extra charge was eventually removed.
Maybe it was just an off night, but the energy from the waitress left a bad impression, which is a shame considering how much I’ve enjoyed the food...
Read moreMy recent visit to this restaurant left me quite disappointed. I had high hopes for their signature pho dish, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The meatball had an unexpected sour taste that was reminiscent of spoilage rather than the pleasant tang of vinegar. The pho broth itself lacked the depth and authenticity that comes from hours of slow cooking, and it fell short even when compared to instant noodle packages.
The thin-sliced beef, which should have been a delicate pink, seemed off-putting, and it left me concerned about the restaurant's food turnover. Despite the sweet demeanor of the waiter with really great recommendation on Vietnamese ice coff33, the overall quality of the food was subpar and overpriced as in Acton industrial park location with offices around.
I couldn't help but feel queasy on my way home, and I believe the restaurant needs to step up its game. This experience does not meet the standards expected in Asian cuisine, and it's a clear indication that the restaurant should prioritize quality over anything else. I hope my feedback is taken constructively, and that improvements will be made in the future to enhance the dining...
