I've been in monthly for about six months. I get my hair cut down the street, and was thrilled to find a local game store. I was put off a little by being asked to place merchandise I was carrying while browsing on the counter. I figured it was because I was an unfamiliar face and let it go. 6 visits and a couple hundred dollars later and I still receive a cold greeting and am asked to leave merchandise I've picked up from the shelves on the counter.
In an era where stores like this can't afford to be competitive with online merchants in terms of price or selection, good customer service and local business warm and fuzzies are their primary attractions. If this store has been victimized by shoplifters in the past, I'm truly sorry, but treating paying frequent customers like thieves will only lose you business.
I shop at other game stores in New Hampshire and Cambridge and have never been treated this way elsewhere. At a time of unprecedented demand for D&D related products, this store should have been in a great position to grow. That seems unlikely after my...
