I hope “Meg,” sees this one day & is recognized someway, somehow. Good people with hearts of Gold deserve recognition & that Is exactly the type of person my waitress, Meg was, specifically on September 9th (2023). I am from Michigan & will be going to the Cleveland Clinic the rest of my life as a lifelong patient, At age 35. (My former OT told me I HAD to come here) - so this was actually my third time after prior awesome service and food. I was so hungry after participating in the annual 5k brain aneurysm awareness 5k, hosted by my former NP, who I “met” while I was in a medically induced coma for 1 week in 2017 following a 14 hour brain surgery, resulting in a stroke that once left me unable to walk, talk, or eat. Needless to say, I was on cloud 9 this morning after the special event, having the ability to RUN again, AND then eat “real” food. It’s like my awesome morning struck jackpot with having Meg as my waitress (and my roommate/coworker who was with me). Your restaurant was absolutely packed & so busy - Meg was incredibly busy, but you’d never guess it. Meg provided top-notch service by her excellent communication and making sure our drinks did not need a refill and somehow knew to ask specific questions to assure my order was made EXACTLY how I wanted it. (Scrambled eggs for the delicious huevos rancheros). Sounds ridiculous but that attention detail mattered so much! The excellent customer service was just an added plus. I instantly enjoyed how kind Meg was right when she greeted us & the fact that she was able to be personable with us & not making us feel rushed in conversation/orders even though she had others to get to. She was calm, yet a go-getter. Those are the people that add so much value to a team, although May go unnoticed by leadership. In a world that has been so heavy & stressful in the workplace (especially after pandemic in restaurant field) - it is great that genuine people like Meg exist. thank you for taking the time to read this & thank you Meg for making my morning absolutely complete! We appreciate you big time and I hope your team does too!! - ...
Read moreMy sister suggested this place after hitting the Market, she heard it was great. So we sit down order, I ordered hot water to mix my mushroom coffee and the waitress looked at me. Dietary restrictions, I said. My sister was worried about the egg whites being runny. Waitress (Kashmere) “oh there eggs are my favorite I never have any problems “ so my sister ordered the sausage gravy, eggs and potatoes. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a spicy syrup. Food comes; waitress leaves…..now we are looking at my sisters food the sausage was darker than normal (burnt) some gravy on the biscuits, okay, she tasted the potatoes, those were good. The eggs were very, very runny. So I helped her get the eggs off her plate, she set them aside. Now mind you the waitress asked my sister if she wanted more coffee, I sat there about 15 minutes with an empty cup…..until I asked her for a cup of hot water. So the waitress passed our table 4 times looking at the eggs, my sister called her over about the eggs and she took them away bringing them back “ they fixed the eggs, she said”. By this time we were done, asked for boxes so we could leave. We did leave a tip but the waitress came to the table and leaned on the table and asked if there was something wrong with the service so she was told about her service and how she never asked how the food was ignored us and talked to the table behind us more and took care of them. It was stated that maybe next time we should go to McDonalds, and she said “maybe you should do that”. We could of not left a tip, but we left a tip because that’s the right thing to do!! I will never spend a dime in the ANOTHER...
Read moreBased out of the Nashville area, already had less than satisfactory experiences around the Cleveland area and thought I would just grab breakfast from something familiar. It was 9:45 on a Wednesday morning, host was able to seat me immediately and informed me my server is “among the best”. I believe the server’s name was Adrian. Adrian lived up to everything I had heard (from the host). Looking like Jesus Christ, Superstar, the dude checked in, kept my coffee full, and assured me that my food was on its way. He said 12 minutes and it was hitting the table at 11 minutes and 58 seconds. The food, the issue…the disappointment. I admit it is partially my fault. I grew up on biscuits and cornbread, pintos and greens, tomato gravy, oxtails and pigs feet…why, oh why would I ever expect a “Deep South Biscuit Sandwich” from a franchise outside of Cleveland to taste anything better than a franchise outside of Cleveland could do? I think it was the pimento cheese that sold me. I should have known it was going to be a disaster due to “bacon jam” why does everyone assume that is a southern thing? Anyhow, the filler was to be expected, from the cheese to the jam, it was on par. But the biscuit…holy shit…I could not bit through it. I had to deconstruct the sandwich, use my fork like a pick-axe and my butterknife like a hacksaw to get through. How long did you heat this pre-made biscuit in the kiln in order for it not to measurable by Mohs scale of hardness??
Anyway, server was spot-on, location was cool, atmosphere was pleasant. I’ll be back for...
