Yard House — Restaurant in Westlake

I actually went out for Mexican to night and was let down dramatic. This was just a spur of the moment new place let's try it. I have to say this is no fall back place. I came in a little later so no wait. Nathan my server( highly recommend) was promptly to the table gave me the run down of menu and drink menu. Took my drink order and I asked what does he personally recommendation are. He told me a few things through out the menu and he told me his favorite was the Parm crusted pork loin. I took his recommendation and got the pork loin. I did modify side I got cream corn and spinach mashed potatoes instead of broccolini and sweet mashed potatoes. Seem like no time food was out. Took a bite of the corn and made to perfection good and sweet and the corn not over cooked. Next the spinach mashed potatoes first time trying this combination but it did not disappoint. Great tasting mashed potatoes with the crunch of the fresh spinach they are amazing. Than come down to the pork loin the make or break of this meal. Cut in to it and still nice and moist with a crunch from the crust. Cooked perfectly. And taste was awesome. It also comes with a bourbon-sage-cherry shallot sauce on the side. It is sweet but is very good. To me it was good just dipped the pork in. So far this is my favorite meal. He recommended the lamb burger think I'll be back to try it soon. Nathan came and went through out my meal and was a great server. Yard house is my favorite restaurant in crocker Park now. Can not wait to come back. I’m writing to express my disappointment after a recent visit to Yard House. We’ve celebrated many family milestones at your restaurant—my husband’s birthday, my daughter’s wedding anniversary, my son’s 13th birthday. But after this visit, we will not return.

Our server, Emily, started off fine. But when my daughter, who wears a headscarf, arrived, everything changed. Emily became cold, inattentive, and unprofessional. Refills were ignored, one meal was forgotten and only brought after we flagged someone else. She never checked on us again.

At one point, she nearly dropped a scoop of ice cream, caught it with her bare hand, and still served it on a brownie. When I gently asked if she was having a rough day, she snapped, “Are you?” Meanwhile, we saw her being friendly and professional with other tables. The couple behind us, who were interracial, waited over 15 minutes before she even approached them.

After speaking with the manager, it was clear nothing would be done. That made things worse.

We’ve loved coming to Yard House, but this felt personal and discriminatory. We live in a diverse community and your staff should reflect respect for that. If Emily can’t treat all guests equally, she shouldn’t be in a customer-facing role.

We won’t be back, but I hope you take this seriously so others don’t have to feel what we felt—unwelcome, disrespected,...

Went to a 4pm movie then strolled over here for dinner. Walking in the place is very vast and has a nice modern dim lit decor. Hostess said it would be 5-10 mins so we sat at the immense bar to wait. Took about 10 mins for bartender to finally come around and greet us and hand a drink menu. Finally figured out what we wanted. Waited...waited then we were paged for our table so we left the bar with no drinks. With this being Sunday and semi busy I figured we would be seated at a quaint comfy booth for dinner. Instead it was a bar height high top all of 6 paces from where we were at the bar and 4 paces from the busy front door traffic. Hostess said nothing else was really available so we settled cause it was getting late. Waited another 5 mins for water then another 10 for our drinks finally! Waitress was nice. I feel the place is understaffed behind the bar and for waiting tables. Casual long walks back n forth for the staff feels like it takes a while. With the ambient lighting and decor my wife and I thought the mix of loud music and crowd acoustics make it feel like a fancy cafeteria. Drinks and food were good but the place was just a upscale, huge scale bar! Hostesses up front were blurting out song lyrics about the rain outside that was a little annoying and un professional.
