We table for 2 dined today (Mar 20th) at around 5:30 p.m. Me and my daughter came to have dinner in this establishment. We just started eating and we were not even close finishing food, our waitress (I can't remember her name but she is a blonde lady with long hair and I believe she wore headband) came to us and started asking "Are you done with your plate" even though our plates were completely full. We said no because we were still working on them. She said "Ok are you ready to see our desert menu then?" We said not yet. We thought it was a bit weird but didn't think nothing of it. We continued dining and everything was ok until 15-20 minutes later she came back with the same question "Are you ready to see our desert menu?" We said "no yet thank you". Even though we thought it was a bit off to ask about desert when we are still eating. Then after some time I left to get something else from a buffet. When I returned my daughter told me that the waitress came back again asking her " Well now are you ready to see desert menu?" My daughter was quite shocked and said " when my mom will return we will see desert menu". She said ok and left. I was in shock hearing about this. That was quite peculiar service. We kept eating and after 10-15 minutes she came back with the same question but she sounded almost annoyed saying "Well now you guys ready for desert menu" we were shocked so we said yes. She came and showed us menu and we chose the deserts so she could just stop harassing us with it. We started eating desert and it was nice yes but not that nice for her keep coming to us every 10-15 minutes asking us "Are we ready to see desert menu," that was super odd and I felt super uncomfortable and rushed to finish dining. Oh and in the end she brought us a check we were still eating our deserts and in 5 minutes she came and asked "Are you ready with a check". We were still eating our desert and she already came to get a check even though she said "Don't be in a rush". I understood that it will be the same story with desert menu so we quickly finished out desert, paid and left. We were super disappointed with the service. We didn't get any pressure. It felt weird and rushed. That even more disappointing when you pay big sum of money and you expect to get ecstatic pleasure from a place. From the food, atmosphere and service. But after this service you can't feel anything else but disappointment from this place. It's sad the food was great, atmosphere quite relaxing but service atrocious. The only good things I liked were atmosphere, food, people who brought meats, and a manager that came to us in a beginning of a meal and he even took my huge bone from a prime-rib with his bare hands. That was so sweet of him. I sadly will not return in this establishment if the situation with a waitress will not be solved. I don't want other people to go through the same service like me and my daughter came through. It doesn't worth it. But of cause if you are ready to hear every 10 minutes " Are you ready to see our desert menu "...
Read moreOur service experience was terrible. First, it took a while for our server to greet us after we were seated. He apologized, said he was in the back, and didn’t realize we were there. Then he took our drink order and never came back.
We were sitting near the bar and saw when our drinks were made. They sat there for 25 minutes. I finally had enough and was going to go up there myself to get them as soon as the bartender came back. Finally, as I was getting up, another server brought them to us. By that time the ice was almost fully melted.
My boyfriend was out of water for a while before he went up to the bar to ask for a refill. Another server told him she would bring a pitcher to our table and refill our water. At that point we told her we had been ignored by our water since he took our drink orders over 30 minutes prior. She told us he was dealing with another table wanting separate checks and was busy. I asked her if we were supposed to get the mashed potatoes, bananas, etc brought to our table. By the time she went and brought them to us, 40 minutes had passed and we were upset and done eating.
She eventually got our server and when he came back to our table, it had been close to 45 minutes since he was last there and took our drink order. He was apologetic. He did explain he was having issues with large party he had wanting separate checks. I understand that, but that does not change the poor experience we had. We were completely ignored and had to take it upon ourselves to find other people to help us.
The manager came over and took our drinks off our bill because I explained how the ice was almost completely melted by the time we got them and took 15% off the bill.
The staff doesn’t appear to work together or help each other out, and the guests suffer. Our table was right next to the bar. The bartender had to have seen those drinks sit there for 25 minutes, and had to have known those drinks belonged to us. She could have brought them to us. It would have taken her 20 seconds. Instead she just let them sit there.
Our server could have asked someone else to check on our table if he was too busy. He could have taken 2 minutes and brought our sides and drinks and then go back to dealing with the check issue with the other table. Instead we were completely ignored. Even with the discount, our bill came to $105 for the 2 of us. We definitely did not get a decent experience for that price.
In a positive note, the food was good and the meat guys were great. They were always coming around. That is why I rated the service a 2 instead of a 1.
I went a couple years ago and the place was packed. Today, they were less than half full on a Saturday night. I assume there is a good reason for that. I doubt will be back. There are much cheaper restaurants that offer a much...
Read moreHere is the email I sent to corporate regarding my horrible experience: On January 21st at the Westlake, Ohio location. I want to start off by saying I have had a couple great experiences at this location but this experience was extremely disappointing. I had been in contact with Melissa S. (manager) for 3 weeks prior to the reservation. I had booked the private room and had approximately 14 emails back and forth, 4 phone calls, and she had even told me directions to walk to the private room when we got to the restaurant since it was a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend and I didn’t want it to be ruined. She was extremely helpful and great at communicating with me! I had 19 guests. Both of our parents were there, family, and some friends. A lot went into planning this and I was very pleased with the service she gave me. I even emailed her two days before to make sure everything was good to go which she assured me it was. When my guests arrived at the restaurant (10 minutes prior to us getting there as planned with Melissa since it was a surprise) they were told that we didn’t have the private room and they were given a table in the middle of the restaurant. When I got there the general manager Jeff spoke with me and said he was sorry and that on Saturdays they don’t book the private room unless it’s a party of 35. I explained the various emails and phone calls I had with Melissa and he stated his apologies and that we could have free dessert. In the private room it looked like there was one party at a long table and then 2 small tables that didn’t look like they were all together. Our dinner was not a good experience. The dining room noise was too loud for us to talk to each other and we weren’t able to enjoy this experience like we should have if we would have had the private room. That was one of the main reasons why I picked to have it there was the draw of the private room. Also, when Jeff was speaking to me he wouldn’t even look at me. I would have appreciated him more if when he was talking to me to keep eye contact. Instead he was looking off like he didn’t care. I know everyone is short staffed these days but the meat didn’t come out like it used to. There was definitely a decreased amount of meat for the normal price that we paid.
I appreciate your time, Melissa I sent this to corporate and they offered me a $20 gift card and said there is nothing more they can do. $20 is not enough to replace 19 displaced guests. I’m not asking for a million dollars but $20...
