HARRASSED BY WAITSTAFF FOR INSUFFICIENT TIP.
I love their gluten-free slim jim and fries, HOWEVER, I will NEVER eat here again. After learning of this place and their gluten-free menu, I would frequently order the slim Jim for take out. Recently, on the way to the airport, my wife and I suggested that we stop and dine in at the location with a couple of friends that are also celiac. The food was good, the service was actually good to, then we went to leave. Our friends payed separately and left A 20% tip. Everytime I have been there in the past I have left a tip, even if it was just for take out, but that day I accidentally thought I had left a five and some singles for tip and they were all singles unfortunately. It still amounted to a 7% or 8% tip...even with goof up. The waitress actually FOLLOWED AND CHASED my wife and I out into the parking lot to our vehicle where she confronted us, asking what was wrong with the service. I still didn't realize I had left too small of a tip...but checked my wallet and saw the five dollar bill...and quickly realized my mistake. Our family friend was there as well and my poor wife was so embarrassed that she quickly handed over a $20 bill and apologized just to appease the situation. I was quite surprised at this, as this older lady, which I believe is a family member, as it is family run, has always been polite to us in the past. This incident was so classless and embarrassing...and over approximately $5, that I will never give them my business again. Quite ridiculous, as I would have frequented this restaurant for years to come, as well as given word of mouth advertisement to people we know amounting to hundreds if not thousands of dollars spent there...all lost now over a tip that was less than acceptable to the waitress and her rude...

We had the tuna melt with a side of coastline fries, and as I said, above a regular staple on the menu, which was excellent!!! Once again, we highly recommend Mr Mike’s Grill especially on a Monday, where almost all other gluten-free places were closed.
My wife and I first heard about Mr Mike’s Grill on the app. “Find Me Gluten Free.” My wife is a celiac, and we have a totally gluten-free home! It’s often hard to find places that carry items that we both can have since as stated my wife is celiac (gluten-free) and we both are pescatarian! Mr Mike’s is a place that when you go in, they ask how many people in your party? And then they ask if you need a gluten-free menu? This is something you don’t find often in Michigan. We’ve had breakfast and lunches there and we have never had any trouble, which is very important because my wife is a very sensitive celiac! The owner, who is a celiac, her two daughters, and the young man that work there are all very friendly, helpful, professional, and willing to answer any questions regarding their gluten-free menu or the products they use! By the way they also cater. My wife and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mr. Mike’s Grill in Westland, a FANTASTIC PLACE to eat!! By the way, Mr. Mike’s has a...

This may have been one of my favorite Celiac experiences ever - not just because the food was good, but the dedication and care to Celiac needs almost had me tearing up. Upon being seated we were immediately asked if we needed a GF menu and that the owner would be over to discuss safety with me. The menu has lots of options for breakfast or lunch. Owner came over and explained how her family with celiac was the inspiration for the restaurant and they work in the kitchen that has a completely separate area, fryers, toasters, utensils etc. they get it here! I ordered half stack of pancakes, omelet, and a turkey club to go as I wouldn't have another safe meal for lunch. Food was great, my gluten eating fiancé loved his food as well. Didn't even feel the need to use my Nima tester which I don't often skip in a place that has a full gluten menu. Not only did I not get sick, I actually felt good after eating here. They also get homemade pitas and bread from Rumi's Passion which I didn't get to try but I bet are amazing. This is worth the drive, the time, and your money (so reasonably priced for GF standards) to support this business. I wish I could have taken this restaurant and sweet family back to my home state with me. Can't wait to come back here when I visit...
