My sister and I came to enjoy and nice brunch to support local, and we both ordered a Vietnamese coffee and the Oakland, as my sister had had the Oakland before and praised it. We had to sit upstairs because there wasn’t any room downstairs and it is dingy, cold, and has no music like downstairs does, but we weren’t bothered by it. We waited around and some bugs started to fly around us which was a little annoying but not anything too bad. That was, until we got out drinks. They tasted watered down and like they were made with regular milk. It honestly tasted like a very mild Hershey’s milk chocolate. Vietnamese coffee is supposed to be made with condensed milk and be strong in flavor, but I can’t even taste the coffee. We again, gave the benefit of the doubt and waited for our food. When our food came up, it looked nothing like how my sister had it before, and it came on slices of white bread. It is supposed to be on naan bread and they never told us they ran out. They should have told us they ran out right when they found out instead of just slapping everything on white bread. The bread was so hard that as I tried to chew, my jaw was audibly cracking. The chicken was so dry and literally had no spices or anything on it. Just tasted like boiled chicken. We added our own salt and pepper and that’s still couldn’t save it. This was so disappointing especially for almost $38. The bugs still kept flying around and swatting at them every few seconds just made us even more irritated. I don’t even want to take the rest home, I’m typing this as I am about to throw it away as it’s literally inedible. My sister and I are going to McDonald’s after this to actually...

Great coffee spot (best latte in Westminster), but I think it is trying to do too much. Moving forward I am only going to get coffee here.

I started going here a few years ago, and I LOVED it. It was 5 stars for me; however, over the years it has gone downhill. In the several times I've tried to give them another shot, they've not once gotten the orders right (as if they don't know their own menu) or the quality was not good/inconsistent, which is even more frustrating when things tend to take a long time to come out.

Overall, I like the atmosphere. It's clean. The coffee is good. The people working there (mostly college students) are friendly enough. I've gone to a concert out back, which was nice. I think they have cool activities there/it functions well as a community hub. But, my feedback to the restaurant would be to cut down the food menu. It's just my personal observation that a simplified menu might bring out the positive components of this spot vs. create frustration and disappointment.

This would be my suggestion for a simplified food menu:

Local pastries, assorted parfaits, and toasted Bagels w/Cream Cheese with the following choices:

Bagel Plain, Multigrain, or Everything Bagel

Cream Cheese Plain, Veggie, or Sweet (like honey pecan)

Toppings Lox, Microgreens and Tomato, or fresh berries

I will still come here. I will come for coffee and maybe activities like the plant swap. I just won't...

Today, I went to American Ice Co. Cafe for the first time with my friends. We went there with the intent to catch up and support local. We got there at 12:00pm. I ordered first; a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel and a vanilla latte at 12:15. One friend ordered a pre-made muffin and chai tea. Another friend ordered a bagel and caramel latte. The last friend to order, ordered a chicken curry wrap. The four of us ordered food all between the hours of 12:15 and 12:20. We each got something we ordered all at random times/ out of order. I ordered first and did not get my food until 1:30pm. We waited over an hour for my bagel. I understand how chaotic it can be working in the food industry as I have been a server for many years, so I get it however, I was very unhappy with the amount of time I had to wait. I was asked several different times what I was waiting on by the same two people like it was a new experience each time. In total, five employees asked me what I was waiting on in the span of one hour and still could not get it. I highly recommend making American Ice Co more organized with the ordering process. I am so disappointed that I wasted half of my day there and was not offered anything to comp for my wait. I will never step foot in there again. If there were an option to not put stars, I wouldn't even leave one, but I hope this post reaches the right...

I love everything about this Café! I wish there were more around the area. The atmosphere is great. I visited two days in a row for a cappuccino and sandwich. This cafe reminded me of being back in Sweden. Sandwiches are great! I have eaten the Nan-which and the turkey panini. Both great! I really loved the Nan-which. I'd say it's one of my favs so far, but I will keep u posted if it changes. If I had to critique one thing about the sandwiches so far, I would say for the price, there should be some chips included. Both times eating there, I wanted chips. That was the only downside for me. Cappuccino was on point. I added a small amount of sugar-free vanilla syrup, and boy o boy, was it amazing. It's a must try! There is plenty of seating. Downstairs tables and upstairs table and booths. While the downstairs seemed more "put together" and cozy, the upstairs is nice. I think it is still a work in progress. Hopefully, they will give the upstairs some decoration and appeal. Check it out for yourselves and enjoy.

Wonderful selection of coffee, tea and breakfast sandwiches. Warm, friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. The quirky, non-franchise coffee shop feel is spot on. I stop in probably 3 to 5 times a week (I live in the neighborhood and pass by there just about every day on my daily walk) and my whole milk latte with NO ADDED FLAVORS (inside joke with the baristas!) is my drink of choice. Some coffee shops have no clue how to get a nice foam on top of a hot latte but not at American Ice. They never disappoint! Check out the acoustic acts upstairs too . . . just the icing on the cake for a wonderful visit to this gem in downtown Westminster.
