Well, this is a first for me. As someone who spent a long time in the restaurant business, I am just about as understanding as they come when it comes to service received at any given restaurant. However, this i just cannot ignore. I stopped in for a beer and appetizer the other night. The bartender was very nice. As is the case with most people, I do not expect a lot when it comes to Applebee's (subpar food, subpar beer selection, etc.), but when it came time close out, I sat there for over twenty minutes waiting. Now I know some people will say that twenty minutes is not a long time, but consider this. I was one of only TWO people seated at the bar, and there were only a few tables in the restaurant that were occupied. My question is this: why does a restaurant have the lone bartender not only tending bar, but seating customers, waiting tables, running to-go orders, etc.? To make matters worse, there was at least one other waiter working that night who was absolutely nowhere to be seen for most of the time I was there. What was he doing while the poor bartender was handling the entire front of house? My issue is not with the bartender, with the nonexistent waiter, or even with the length of time I was forced to sit there waiting to close out. My issue is that it is blatantly obvious that the shift manager(s) at the Wadsworth location in Westminster clearly has absolutely zero clue what is going on in their store. You've got one waiter hiding in the back somewhere while patrons are forced to wait and unnecessary amount of time for any sort of service because the bartender now has to run the entire front of house by herself. To the absentee waiter and the shift manager, you should be ashamed of yourselves. To the regional manager, get a clue and get it quickly. To the owner, my question is this: are your standards of service truly this low or are you simply too careless to reinforce said standards? I do not know of this will be the last review I ever write, but I do know that this is last review I will write for Applebee's because I will not be back. Read moreJust got home from and immediately started this review to inform potential customers of my experience. Right off the bat it was slow getting a table. It looked as though they might have understaffed which is not an issue itself but the worst experience was waiting almost an HOUR for just the appetizers only to have them served at barely room temperature, and then waiting another 15-20 minutes for the entrees. I ordered the whiskey bacon burger "pink" because the kitchen staff has apparently no concept of medium rare. Once the food finally arrived i noticed immediately that my patty was a flat piece of charcoal with crispy bits hanging off of it and cold and soggy french fries. The moment i but into it there was a nice hard crunch coming not from the lettuce or soggy brioche bun, but from the burnt patty. The patty itself aside from being burnt to a crisp was unseasoned and flavorless and there was also barely any of the fireball whiskey steak sauce on the burger so instead of what i thought would be a flavor packed burger instead turned out to be a burnt flavorless piece if meat in between 2 soggy buns. Having worked in food service as a cook i can tell you that what i ate is definitely not what is supposed to be served and that i am very disappointed in what i was served. Shame on management for having the kitchen staff be the way they were and shame on the kitchen staff for not giving any effort into what they serve. Read moreWe ordered dinner on Valentines night for my mom, son and myself. It was an expensive order because we had ordered special things due to it being Valentines. When we arrived to pick up the order we had to give our name 3 times and the spelling and the hostess still didn't understand. When the manager came out she made me show her my phone with the order, she said to prove it was our order, like we would lie about who we were. My son asked if the drinks and shake were with the order and she said absolutely until we checked, nope they weren't there. When we got home none of our orders had the sides that were supposed to be included, the fried fish was soggy and tasted like old oil. My sons Asian chicken had no sauce on it and it tasted of old oil as well. His Mac and cheese had no cheese on it except for maybe a small blob, it looked like a bowl of noodles. My mom's shrimp also tasted of of old oil, her salad consisted of lettuce and that's all. This by far was the worse meal we had ever had and spent a lot of money on. And on top of it rude employees.
