In a nice strip mall, easy parking, no wait, immediately seated.
They have a large menu of Vietnamese noodle and rice dishes. I ordered pho xao thap cam, soft fried rice noodles with meats and seafood. Partner ordered a sea food noodle soup. Both are fresh, tasty, my fried noodle portion is almost twice as big as the same dish at Trieu Chau.
Prices are comparable to other shops but portion are huge and food tasty, more authentic Vietnamese compared to Chinese or Cambodian houses
I split a quarter of my plate to partner but struggled to finish the plate. Was so stuffed I wanted fall asleep
Young waiter speaks English, was very polite and helpful .
This shop is now my favorite noodle shop in all OC and LA, highly recommended.
Update June 15, 2025
Still the best tasting pho xao thap cam with the biggest serving in So Cal.
The woman chef does this soft fried pho noodle with just the right texture, squiggly, springy with smoky flavor and sesame oil aroma.
Lots of proteins, shrimp, squid, lean pork, liver, fish balls ect with green vegetables. The sauce is just right, slightly sweet, sour, umami, served with a big bowl of the most delicious pork bone broth in California.
I am a big eater but could only finish half of the serving, packed half to go like previous visits.
This place serves excellent noodles, big portions with reasonable prices. I told the host to congratulate the chef, likely his mom...
Read moreWe have been regular visitors of Hung My Vi, and our most recent visit has left us with a positive impression. My favorite go-to dish is the special dry noodle and wonton, while my husband loves the braised duck noodle.
The special dry noodle and wonton comes with an abundance of green onions, chives, meat, organ meats, seafood, and a savory sauce, all served alongside a side of soup. The braised duck noodle, on the other hand, showcases a tender duck leg and dry shitake mushroom, immersed in a rich and flavorful broth, accompanied by pickled vegetables. However, one minor inconsistency we've noticed is that the portion of noodles tends to vary.
Sometimes we receive a more generous serving, while other times it is slightly less, despite ordering the same small size bowl. During our most recent visit, we encountered newly hired servers who exuded energy and displayed a keen attention to detail. Their service was prompt and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Moreover, we find that the dishes at Hung My Vi are reasonably priced, offering good value for the...
Read moreGot their mi kho dac biet. Their dry noodle combination special. Got the small for $10.22. it came with a soup and the noodles were good. Nothing crazy but flavorful enough to satisfy. Price wise, would go to the place on Westminster between Brookhurst and bushard called my vi mi gia even though I can't at all stand that place's owner and his attitude. I can say this though... The girl who works here, she deserves a great trip, super nice and attentive and does service right.Would I go back again? Maybe....if it's open when others aren't or if I want to dine in at a place that is low key with easy parking and a pretty much sure bet taste, yes. If for value when others are open,...
