Always had good interactions with the staff, and was a daily regular.
I had thought there was a potential for friendship, took the risk and asked for the barista for their number.
Instead of just telling me "flattered, but no thanks." I now know I was provided the wrong number.
I first thought I had mistakenly heard the number wrong. So when I went back things went horribly wrong. First when I saw the barista and told her, "hey I think I got your number wrong", she told me "one second." and disappeared into the back.
Then the manager came up to me and told me I needed to keep it professional. I thought he was referring to don't be socializing while the person is on the clock. Super Fair.
Then a minute or two later another worker approached me and told me if you are waiting for this barista they are on break in the back and won't be coming out.
That is when reality sank in.
The entire way this was handled, the way I was treated, and the lasting impression this will leave was completely unnecessary, and was horrifically mortifying.
I was never given the courtesy that a misunderstanding could have occurred.
There was no empathy or attempt to clarify, I was simply treated like a creep/predator.
Not only do I feel uncomfortable with ever returning to this location, this was a hugely impactful negative experience.
For someone like myself who is extremely cautious and hesitant to open the door to new friendships, it devastates any future courage to socially connect with new people in the future.
The world is hard enough these days.
This is why men in our culture isolate, and live solitary lives. A life alone is much safer.
The risk and fear of a misunderstanding leading to a situation like this results in damaging emotional scars at best, and the potential for dramatically worse outcomes.
I didn't deserve this, and I have learned my fear, like those of many guys these days is an unfortunately...
Read moreI came to review the new location and it moved my review for the old location over here. Not sure how that happened. New location is THE SLOWEST Starbucks I've ever been to!! Came yesterday in the afternoon and the line was 3 cars out of the drive thru. It took 12 minutes from box to window. I asked if this was typical now that the newness had worn off and I was told it was happy hour. So I came back this morning. I mobile ordered when I saw the line. The app said 3 minutes. When I got to the window 10 minutes later, they had given mine to someone else by mistake. They fixed it fast but it was still 11 minutes from order to drink. I recommend leaving extra time if you visit this location. A lot of extra time.
Also, inside theres nowhere comfy to sit. A few hard chairs and small tables. Not a good one to meet for coffee.
Old Location Won't be here long! Right now it's a bit cramped in a little strip mall on the West side of Federal. As you can see in the pic, they're moving to a stand-alone building across the street to the East side of Federal and it will have a drive thru! So, while the line and wait is a bit long here and the parking a challenge, it's only temporary. Great, friendly employees and a soon to be...
Read moreThe baristas are the best! They make you feel welcome. I chat with them a bit if it's not busy. They have enough tables and chairs inside, though sometimes the a/c gets too cold. Then it's best to move outside on a warm, sunny day. I don't know how the heat is in winter. This November it's still been about 70 degrees most days! You'll get a few people who stay and do work on their laptops or a few who will chat at tables outside. Most of the customers grab and go with their orders. As with most Starbucks, a lot of cute girls and women come in to get their Frapps or refreshers. I consider that an added plus. But it's a mix of people, so it's comfortable no matter who you are. I am sitting outside right now, enjoying the 79 degree hot sunny weather in the afternoon on Tuesday, November 15 2016....
