Taqueria Mexico — Restaurant in Westminster

At 9:30PM, Sunday November 17, 2019, I was hungry for a quesadilla, so I went to Taqueria Mexico at 14022 Springdale St, Westminster, California. BAD MISTAKE!!! This was a new all-time low in restaurant experiences in my life! And I've been eating in restaurants for 60 years, so I have a lot of experiences with the good, the bad, and the ugly. And this place was bad. VERY bad. Don't eat here!

On arriving, the place didn't look bad. The storefront was well maintained. The interior, while plain, was in good repair. The place was well-lit, the air clean, climate temperate, soft music playing. And though it was 9:30PM on a Sunday evening, the place was about half full, with lots of customers, about half Caucasian and half Hispanic. I figured that since the place appeared popular, the food must be good. WRONG!!!

I ordered one single item: a lengua quesadilla. It was a bit pricey at $7.50, but I figured it would be worth it. (WRONG!!!) There is NO way to screw-up a lengua quesadilla! There just isn't! It only has 3 ingredients: tortillas, cheese, and beef tongue. Put beef and cheese between tortillas, heat, and serve. Unless the ingredients are rotten or one is highly incompetent, it's delicious.

Well, unfortunately, the ingredients were rotten and the cook was highly incompetent. When the food was served to me, at first glance I could already see multiple problems. Firstly, the tortillas were flour instead of corn as I prefer; OK, that's one traditional way of doing it, though not my preferred way. Secondly, the tortillas were scorched and greasy on the outside. Why??? There's no need for that. (They should have used a microwave or oven instead of scorching it on a griddle.) Thirdly, instead of cheddar cheese, the cheese was grey. What the hell kind of cheese is GREY??? Fourthly, the quesadilla was giving-off a foul stench of ammonia and rancid grease. On biting into it, the flavor was atrocious and nauseating, reeking again of ammonia and rancid grease and over-heated cheese and burnt meat, with a nasty bitter mineral taste on top.

I actually ate 3 small bites of this garbage before giving up on it. BAD MISTAKE!!! Those 3 mouthfuls make me sick for hours afterwards! I spent the next 5 hours belching-up gas reeking of rotten cheese and rancid meat.

In the end, I left 95% of the toxic quesadilla sitting on the table. I didn't complain to the employees. What on Earth could I say??? When food is THAT bad, how do I politely explain that their ingredients are rotten, their griddle is filthy, and their cooking is very bad? There was no way I could get that information across in such a way that wouldn't invoke cognitive dissonance, so I had to abandon any hope of getting my $7.50 back, cut my losses, and just leave.

Bottom line: THIS RESTAURANT IS HORRIBLE! DON'T EAT HERE, EVER! Not even if you're starving to death and they offer you a million dollars to eat there; the food would probably kill you. The only reason I rate this place at "one star" is that I'm not allowed to give it the "zero stars" it deserves. This place should be shut down before it...

I really loved the tacos from here until today. I had the worst experience of my life! I ordered one burrito and one taco. The burrito was good but for my taco the tortilla was hard as if they didnt heat it up properly so i kindly asked the cashier if i can get another one because the taco was cold and she rudely said no. So then i told her if i can get my receipt because when she charged me she didnt give me my receipt and she said no its too late. She refused to give me my receipt. Thats when i got upset and i told her i didn't want the taco so i gave it back to her and i told her if she liked eating cold hard tacos she can eat mine. I was very upset she was extremely rude and gave me attitude. She talked back to me. I told her i wasn't pleased with there service and she had the nerve to tell me if i didn't like there food to not come back! I was so shocked after that. I am never going back to that place again. I can't believe they hire those kind of people. They have the worst customer service ever. I dont think they know the existence of Customer service in that place!!!! Lastly i asked her if i can get her managers number or someone with a higher charge i can speak with and she refuse to give me the phone number and she told me to Google it. I was livid! This was the worst customer service i have ever experienced. I don't recommend this place to no one! That Taco place i am never going back...

today I come here very often and I get the same thing I know what everything costs a few times lately some of the cashiers raise the price of the food without the customers knowledge on the receipt doesn’t show how much it costs each thing I hope the owner speaks to their employees in the nighttime because it makes me feel like I don’t want to come here the food is awesome it’s just the help is the problem.... update today is the 10th of September 9:00pm I went to the restaurant again this time they added extra order to my order and she knew but when I was going to pay I noticed it was a little high on the price like I said before I buy the same thing and I know how much it cost this time they tried to do it again until I brought it to her attention why was it so much and she acted like too normal like if she got caught she got caught and she didn't she didn't and she said she was going to read it to me to confirm and she didn't show any means of reading the order so the situation has not changed for the cashier at night still with their shenanigans with the cashier at night give you a tip check twice before you pay the food is awesome they still have not found the right help I hope next time I go...
