I wanted to like this place I really did! The service was great while placing my order! When I got home to try the food⦠I was disappointed⦠Iām a birria girl & have gone to hot spots for the best birria⦠girl save your money! This place is expensive & the birria was disgusting! The meat was tough and had no seasoning, barely any cheese, & each birria taco broke about as I tried to pick each one up! Letās not get into the elote⦠I know what elote has in it, & again, it just wasnāt it! The corn was overcooked, too much butter, and there was too much seasoning & cheese! It was waaaay too salty for me! I have had elote also from other places & this was the worst Iāve had tbh. When I called to tried to explain how I didnāt like that food and wanted a refund I was told to call back that day at 3pm, when the manager would be there! I call back and itās 3:30 and now all of a sudden the manager wonāt be there until Monday! So you mean to tell me, if there is an issue on the weekend with food, all of the customers will have to wait until Monday for anything to be done⦠I guarantee you that is not how everything is handled with everyone! The service started off great but when it comes to you explaining to some places that food wasnāt what was expected all of that goes out of the door! Customer service is need throughout the entire process dealing with a customer! Idk if the language barrier was the main issue but I am not dumb and I know what I was told to do as far as speaking with management. Then the guy, Juan, who told me to call back at 3pm ended up speaking to me and said he was there before 3pm! Why would you tell me to call after 3pm if he was there before 3pm when I originally called at 12:30pm! AVOID THIS PLACE! Iām telling you⦠if you are a birria person⦠find another spot that will make birria the right way! Terrible terrible! I also got a 2 for 1 special on drinks & that was fine, but for all of this to be $50, I am pissed! No care to resolve my issue...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe decided to check out this taco place on Halloween. As we entered I could not deny the somewhat authentic decor with an impressive fountain present. What was a little obtrusive was the loud Mexican Mariachi music. And it never changed. We came on a specials night "taco Tuesday" expecting something special. We wanted to sample their meats so we chose steak, pork, and ground beef. The service was friendly but marginal perhaps to a language barrier. They served gratis chips and some unknown dips. There were 3 with spoons in them. I didn't know if it was a group through or prepared for just us. I had to ask to be sure it was not shared by others. The stuff was so thin you couldn't dip it but needed the spoons to dispense it but where was the drippings going to go. Luckily a plate was served for the drippings. And only after I tried the spicy one the server bothered to tell me it was spicy still not knowing what the other 2 were. Nonetheless the tacos came and they certainly did not look like the picture on the menu. It had nothing in them but the meat. No lettuce, no tomato, no cheese, no sour cream but was given when asked. Hard shell or soft offered but no one asked so the unexpected soft shell arrived. I tried the steak first. Dry chunky bits hardly seasoned. Then came the dry little chunks of pork poorly seasoned and finally came the ground beef which was fairly palatable. If these are the meats in the other better choices on the menu then I would further disappointed. It's a new place with more desirable competition in the community. Good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGuacaTacos is one of many restaurants I tried during my recent visit to South Florida. While in Weston, Florida, I tried GuacaTacos. Before traveling, I searched Google for the "best tacos in Weston Florida", and GuacaTacos was number two in the results.
Since it was a Friday, I made reservations several days before arriving to Florida, and I'm glad I did because the restaurant is "small", but it seats around 50 people. However, it's in a strip mall and next to a hotel. I'm sure a lot of the guests go down to the restaurant. When we arrived at 7pm, it was practically empty, but around 8pm, it was packed! So if you go, make a reservation.
What was even more surprising is the Spanish karaoke! There were two singers, one whom I think is a regular. However, the guest who was sitting behind me had a FABULOUS voice!
On to the food - AMAZING as well! Wow! The food has the normal Mexican restaurant items - tacos, fajitas, burritos, but the flavors are extraordinary.
For instance, my husband got a white sauce chicken burrito. He kept going on and on about how flavorful it tasted. I got the 3 meat combo fajitas, which was chicken, steak, and shrimp. I'm very picky about red beans and rice. Some restaurants the rice is too mushy or the beans are too bland. Well GuacaTacos did it very well!
If you're in the Weston, Florida area, you have to add this restaurant...
