Long overdue update: Owners reached out to us and was very apologetic about the unfortunate incident. Customer service has now changed for the better! Owners have since opened up more businesses and we will continue to support❤️
My daughter LOVES this place. They make the BEST Tiger (boba tea) and their food is delicious. Every time we go we have had great service from the owners!! I would have given 5 stars. UNFORTUNATELY, today, my husband went. Owners were not there. They seemed to have hired new staff to be “in charge”. My husband received the worse service. After waiting (no one was in line, just him), the workers completely ignoring him and walked past him numerous times, two young ladies over the counter turned their backs to him and had conversations with each other, he decided to say “hello, does anyone work here”? Then someone decided to eventually attend to him. The restaurant was NOT busy at this time. He received his chicken fried rice and was waiting for my daughters Tiger tea. Another customer came in and everyone was VERY attentive to this one customer. My husband called me and said we should no longer patronize this place that obviously doesn’t think our business was worth anything. I called to ask why was my husband treated differently. The person (male) that the owners left in charge was PROFOUNDLY rude. He never apologized for the incident. I asked the person that answered the phone to please have the owners call me as we order from Yum Korea at least 4 - 5 times a week for over a year. We have given this place our business all through the pandemic. Ordering almost everyday last year. We SUPPORTED this business!!! Food is GREAT. But if the owners are reading this - PLEASE train your staff that we are all equal. Today was a very sad incident. We never ask for discounts or for anything free. Our money is just as good as the gentleman that walked into the restaurant after my husband. Everyone deserves good customer service. We loved this place. The new hirers have to be trained better. Unfortunately, we will no longer support this business after this unfortunate incident. Owners, please do better with your training. Your food is delicious and it’s a family owned business. The family are phenomenal people ❤️. The incident today...
Read moreAlright, buckle up buttercups, because I just experienced a flavor explosion at Yum Korean in Weston that left me questioning all my previous life choices (mostly the ones that didn't involve copious amounts of kimchi). First off, the name doesn't lie. It's not "meh" Korean, or "kinda good sometimes" Korean. It's straight-up YUM. My taste buds did a little happy dance, possibly a full-on K-pop choreography routine, with every single bite. I ordered the [insert a dish you might order, e.g., bulgogi] and it was so tender, I swear it could have been used as a pillow for a very happy cloud. The marinade? Oh. My. Goodness. I'm pretty sure they bottle pure joy and marinate their meat in it. And the sides! Oh, the glorious army of little dishes that arrived like a delicious welcoming committee! The kimchi was spicy and tangy, the pickled radish crunchy and refreshing – it was a party in my mouth and everyone was invited. I even tried something I couldn't pronounce (pretty sure it involved seaweed and sesame oil) and now I'm convinced I need a lifetime supply. The service was also fantastic. Our server was so friendly and helpful, they probably moonlight as a professional smile-giver. They answered all my slightly frantic questions about the spice levels with the patience of a saint dealing with a hangry food enthusiast (that's me!). My only complaint? My stomach has a finite capacity. I wanted to order everything on the menu, but alas, human limitations exist. I guess that just means I have to go back. Twist my arm, why don't you? So, if you're in Weston and your taste buds are feeling a little…blah, do yourself a favor and head to Yum Korean. It's not just a meal, it's an experience. Just be prepared to leave feeling incredibly satisfied and possibly humming K-pop tunes for the rest of the day. Five out of five tiny kimchi pots!...
Read moreI read great reviews about this place, and was excited to try it. I ordered takeout, and the girl taking my order kept hearing me wrong, despite me speaking clearly and so I had to repeat myself several times. I asked for a regular bibimbop with no meat, and no sprouts. She also seemed disinterested and distracted from taking a simple order over the phone. She kept leaving me on the phone without saying anything like "Can I put you on hold for a second?" Or a simple "One second, Ma'am." She would just leave me on the phone with nobody.. which wasn't ideal. I didn't really feel important. Then when I got my food, not only were there sprouts on my bibimbop, but it also had meat on it and I'm vegetarian so you can only imagine how that felt, especially after I strictly asked for no meat and the girl on the other side asked me several times to repeat myself, and then later repeated my order back to me-- with no meat.
I also ordered so veggie dumplings and I'm pretty sure they gave me dumplings with meat in them as well.I wasn't listened too very well it seems like. 🤦♀️ Luckily, being vegetarian for me is a choice but some people literally can't have meat and even though I took the meat off, it still had likee meat grease in my rice. I think she was training someone new, but training someone does not excuse for you to not enter an order in correctly, AND not listen or be attentive in the slightest while taking someone's order.
The food was good, however, the...
