My husband and I came for our first time on a busy night. The service was bad from the very moment we walked through the front door. The hostess wasn't friendly and gave short answers. We made an 8:00pm reservation and was told we have a 15min wait. We decided to order drinks at the bar while we waited. The bartender was the only one that deserves a good review. He was courteous and quick. We finally get seated at a TINY table for 2 and started patiently waiting for our waiter. It was, after all, a busy night so we weren't expecting too much. We started to get a little irritated with a table sitting very close to our table with 3 small children all of which were being very loud and obnoxious the whole night; obviously I can't blame that part on the restaurant but it definitely added to the bad experience. Eventually the waiter comes and we ordered waters and apps. We got the apps but no water. We finish our apps and ordered our entrees as quickly as possible since we were starting to realize the wait was growing longer. We were trying to stay positive and were hoping the food would make up for it. We waited a very long time for our food. The waiter came by our table twice to tell us the food is almost out. After a while I asked about our food and the waiter came back after another 5mins with our food. Thank God it was hot at this point we were expecting it to be cold it had been so long. The food was not great. I ordered the mixed seafood risotto and my husband ordered the seafood pasta of the day. We both agreed his food barely had any flavor or sauce so we started to share some of my plate. The servings were actually big. I asked the waiter for extra napkins but never got them. At this point my husband was very agitated and was eager to leave. The restaurant automatically adds an 18% tip to the bill which made my husband more upset because we did not have a good experience, the food was BARELY mediocre, and we agreed to never return again. We really did want to make the best of it and tried to give the restaurant a chance but first impressions...
Read moreOverall, the food is pretty good. Portions are large which is rare in South Florida. Dishes may seem expensive but you are getting your monies worth. However, I suspect they are double charging customers frequently. I ordered through Postmates for pick-up. When I went to get my food they told me that I hadn’t paid yet. I said I ordered and paid through Postmates so I’m just here to grab my food. Told me I still needed to pay. I said that’s weird considering I paid already. I wasn’t going to argue because I figured they knew better than me. Turns out they didn’t. Just checked my bank account and I was doubled charged by Postmates and Tarantella. I’m suspecting this is a regular practice for them. If the restaurant doesn’t know how they are collecting money during a pandemic then they are most likely running a double charge scheme. My advice, if you order from Tarantella through Postmates, double check your bank account.
*An update to this review. Karen from Tarantella immediately contacted me after reading this. She asked for more information to look into the issue. After looking into it, she apologized profusely for their mistake and worked with Postmates to get a refund on the second charge. Karen even gave me a gift card for my troubles. That was excellent customer service and I greatly appreciate their prompt and effective response. Thank you Tarantellas for doing the...
Read moreItalian restaurant review time with your boy Alex and Nyk’ Tarantella in Weston finally made the list and the good news is that it gets a winning report card. Lovely establishment very nice people and especially the manager a true character. We tried the zuppa Di pesce, (Seafood and pasta). Somehow they came out with the wrong dish first, a mushroom risotto. looked interesting, not The entrée we were waiting on but it’s OK the ambience was so comfortable that we were barely even disturbed by the slightly extra wait. the entrée finally came and it was as good as I hoped it would be and then of course it’s pizza time. Pretty much the main reason why we try a different Italian restaurant every week, in search of the perfect New York style pizza. however in this case we tried one of the more gourmet type white pizzas, not your traditional New York style. this one was with arugula and I think cappicola but don’t quote me on that I could be wrong. Also for a white pizza oddly enough it wasn’t all that white LOL regardless, it was very good pizza not really my style but we allowed the manager to steer us in a different direction than what we would normally go in. tarantellas gave us a welcoming flavorful experience. A great place to take a date or the family. If you haven’t tried this place out yet don’t be afraid to give it a shot, you’ll leave with a happy belly and a very...
