Living in Wetumpka, there are not a lot of sandwich shop choices to choose from or too many other places for that matter. I just happened to see it recently and thought it looked nice from the outside and figured I needed to give the place a try. Well, I got that opportunity tonight and was pleasantly surprised. The decor has a very modern, yet quaint design and the floor has an epoxy coat with pennies underneath. Iām assuming this is where ācopper houseā name comes from. There are only about 6 to 8 tables so itās small. When busy, you would find it difficult to find a seat. There are a few stools at a bar against the window allowing for a few extra seats but could not accommodate large crowds. You place your order at the counter and there are a variety of sandwiches to choose from. I went with The Lock 31 Brisket Grilled Cheese and it was a tasty sandwich to be so simple. The servers were friendly and the food took about 15 minutes to prepare. Along with the modern decor and lighting, I noticed they had some low volume music playing old music back from around the 50s, adding to the atmosphere of the venue. The only complaint I might have is that we were seated at a table close to the door and being a chilly night, we definitely felt the swath of cold air each time the door was opened but wasnāt a big deal for me. Prices for the combo pushed the price over $10 but in line with most other deli restaurants. There were a few other sandwiches on the menu that caught my eye so I will definitely be going back in the near future. If you are near downtown Wetumpka, I would definitely recommend Copper House Deli as a place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a great place to eat! The environs are amazingly decorated. They were especially attentive to detail in recreating a space that is both nostalgic/historic as well as elegant and updated. Now for the best part, FOOD! The food is delicious!! The staff is awesome and courteous. They were mindful of the prep time and gave us advance warning about a wait. I had the Sassy Savannah, which is their take on the Philly Cheese steak. Serving size was ample. Food was hot and you could tell they take pleasure in doing it right. I highly recommend the food for eat in or to carry out. The location would make an excellent place to grab a delicious sandwich and go eat by the beautiful river. Also, the interior is small and intimate making this a premier date destination. I especially enjoyed the prepaid meal wall. On the wall there are receipts magnetized to a board advertising meals for those unable to pay. All you do, if you are unable to pay, is grab a receipt (I am posting a picture) and take it to the counter and receive your meal. This just shows how much Richard and Vanessa care about the community and want to share their rich blessings with everyone. This is definitely a place to return to over...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI do really love this place. I really love Rubens and this is the only place I will order one. So after craving one for the last 2 weeks I placed an online order and stop by on my way home to pick it up. I opened it up to eat it about 30 minutes after I got home and thought it was awfully weird that my Ruben did not have the rye bread that it usually does. I also noticed that it seemed awfully light on meat. I took a bite and realized that this was not a Reuben. After looking a little more closely, I realized it was a roast beef with cheese. A bland one at that. I do not recommend whatever that sandwich was, however I do recommend getting the Reuben. Check my ticket, it says Reuben on it and theyeven remembered to give me my extra thousand island dressing on the side that I asked for. And the paper that my sandwich was wrapped in even had an "r" on it, which I assumed was for Reuben. I called to let them know about the mistake and they did offer to replace it but with my game on, I definitely don't want to leave. So they offered to give me a refund to make it right, which I definitely appreciate. But I'm still left wanting the Reuben that I've been craving...
