Stopped in with my husband and son tonight. This momma had been doing hair all day and didn't feel like cooking. I love downtown Wetumpka and how they've revamped the area. Any who....the food was excellent. Appetizer of Ole Bay Fries (jalapeños and sour cream on the side) were good but I feel like they had maybe been sitting in the window for a bit. They were sadly a little cold but still tasty. On to the main course. My guys had the chicken fingers and fries. Both approved ( Asher got the coolest hipster go box ever! He's super psyched about taking his leftovers for lunch tomorrow, lol.) I had the Shrimp n Grits (to which I added the jalapeños and sour cream from the Ole Bay Appetizers) and man oh man delicious is an understatement!! Don't say I didn't warn you. I also had the Ciderboys Pom/Cherry cider it was excellent. For dessert we split the fried moon pie with vanilla ice cream. Too good. The only reason I'm not leaving a 5 star rating would be the service. The young man was nice but kind of lacked personality. If he paid as much attention to his tables as he does combing his fingers through his long beautiful locks he would be top notch. Maybe he was having an off night. I digress. We still left a good tip. I just wish he'd been a touch more attentive. If you haven't checked this place out, you should. And then take a stroll through downtown Wetumpka to burn off all those wonderful calories

Th cowboy burger was great, but the service was very poor. I never got my side of fries with my meal, and the party I was with was finished with everything (and I had been done with my burger for quite a long time) when a server finally brought me a very small basket of completely burned, blackened sweet potato fries. They were inedible and I unfortunately had to send them back, and the server had a rather sour attitude about it even though I did my best to be as nice as possible. For such great food - aside from burnt fries - I was incredibly disappointed with the operation of this restaurant. It’s also incredibly understaffed, which is probably partly to blame for the above issue. The bartender upstairs was working solo and was hardly able to complete everybody’s drink order in a timely fashion. It took at least 20 minutes to get a drink, and it wasn’t because he wasn’t hustling and doing his job. I also think the “pay and tip before you receive your food” method is cheating employees out of potentially larger tips as well as more sales and incentive to have a good attitude and provide exemplary service (which is obviously lacking). Very disappointed. *edit: I got the nice bartender and he did comp me a beer and brought me some fresh, unburned fries (well after an hour later). I was also gifted with my previous blackened, burnt, now-cold fries! Wonderful!

Overpriced for What You Get I've been to Coosa Cleaver a few times, and while the food is usually good, the prices have become completely unjustifiable for what you’re getting. On our most recent visit, I ordered a fish sandwich with a small side of Brussels sprouts for $12 before tip. Unfortunately, the sandwich was just okay, and the Brussels sprouts were not good at all—definitely not worth the price. Looking at the menu, a sirloin steak was listed at $26, which is absurd for a standard cut at a casual restaurant. At those prices, you’d expect higher-end ingredients or exceptional quality, but that’s not what you’re getting here. I get that restaurants have overhead, but at some point, it feels more like price gouging than fair pricing. If I’m paying premium prices, I expect premium food and an experience that justifies it—not just mediocre dishes with a high-end price tag. If the food was phenomenal, I might be more willing to overlook the cost, but at this point, it's hard to justify coming back when I could spend the same amount elsewhere and get something truly worth it.

Unfortunately something has obviously changed in the kitchen in the last couple weeks. My wife and I stopped in the other week to grab dinner and I ordered a grilled chicken breast no seasonings due to health reasons. when the waitress brought our food out I could tell just by looking at the chicken that it was going to be good. Once I tasted the chicken I asked to speak to the manager. When the manager arrived I asked if I would be able to meet the person that made this chicken breast because it was absolutely the best chicken breast I've had in a long time. Moments later the manager arrived with a young man by the name of Meshach. I asked him what he used to make this grilled chicken breast so good and he replied with, just butter sir. Are you serious just butter and it tastes this good we will definitely be back. We decided to go back the other night and also take friends of ours with us so that they would be able to enjoy such delicious food. Unfortunately that was not the case!!! It was cold so we all started off with the soup. And I can tell you we left the soup as it was.. We all thought that may be someone's mistake was a sign not to have soup that night. So we moved on to ordering our meals. Once again I ordered just a grilled chicken breast No seasoning. When the waitress brought our meals out this time i was a little worried. Unfortunately I was able to enjoy this chicken breast like I did the first time It was very dry and tough. as a chef how do you dry out a chicken breast? You should already know that you flip it one time therefore it keeps the chicken breast moiste. Once my wife noticed I was not going to eat the chicken breast she offered me one of her sides. I would've rather ate the chicken breast instead. When I asked the young waitress if Meshach was working she replied with he had found better employment. I told her it was going to be hard losing a good chef. She then told me that he wasn't the chef he was just a really cool guy that liked to cook that was supposed to be training under the chef. Wait so someone that was in training cooked that delicious meal the first time we were here. She said their main chef was working tonight. No way because if this is your chef's work you need a new chef because I've had better food prepared by Chef Boyardee. And if anyone knows where Meshach is now employed I would greatly appreciate the info so that I may enjoy his cooking once again. Thank you for reading and I hope to one day be able to come back and enjoy...

It’s really hard to continue to support local businesses when they do not care about their customers.

We attended the Oktoberfest in downtown Wetumpka, which was great! After walking around a bit, my mother wanted pretzels and I remembered seeing them offered at CC, so I suggested we stop in. Two in our group stopped at Fizz Co. and grabbed some nonalcoholic boba drinks. At CC my mom and I were greeted by a very nice waitress who quickly told us about the pretzel bites and showed us to a table.

Mind you, I had a draft beer in my hand because this was a festival and Wetumpka is an entertainment district meaning you can walk around downtown with alcohol purchased there. Nothing was said about my beer. My mother ordered the pretzel appetizer with a drink and we decided to stay and eat since she had just finished chemo two days prior and was feeling a bit hot and tired. Our two others joined us with their drinks purchased from a neighboring establishment and as we were looking over the menu, a woman approached us rather rudely and said we could not have those drinks in their restaurant. She said they could be thrown away or we could leave. We were not going to throw away drinks just purchased so we decided to leave. The waitress came back over and I told her what had happened and to cancel our order. Then, I told her my mom would just sit by herself and eat her pretzel bites while we waited outside. Since they thought we were leaving, they put my mom’s drink in a to go cup and charged her 1$. They did not take this charge off when she decided to stay.

The pretzel bites came out and I ran back in to try one. I figured after all this trouble at least they’d be good. NOPE! Frozen chewy pretzels with water consistency cheese sauce that was not good.

We ended up finding the pretzel food truck and it was delicious! She finally got her pretzel and cheese sauce that was actually good with great service.

We tried to support a local establishment but ended up with much better food and service at the food trucks.

It is not against the health code policy to allow outside food and drinks so it’s the restaurants own policy, which is understandable. However, I believe this policy should be less enforced during downtown events. We noticed others came in with Fizz Co drinks and they were also told they couldn’t bring them in and they threw theirs away. Maybe it’s just Fizz Co they have a...

We've been many times, but it just keeps going downhill and sadly this was our last visit. Long story short -- broken AC made it very hot, terrible service, disgusting bathroom (dirty, smelly, no paper towels, soft spot on the floor), and rude bartender/manager. Stay away and go to Grumpy Dog or any of the other friendly, local spots.

The air conditioning didn't work well so it was very warm, but we decided to stay. We had a very nice young waitress. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We ordered drinks for 5 adults. Two arrived in about 5 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes for the others, I went upstairs to the bar to check. When I politely asked about the drinks, the bartender quickly snapped that everyone else at the bar ordered drinks at the same time and she was still working on them. Not sure how that works since we ordered all of our drinks at once, but only received 2 of 5. I stayed at the bar and watched, to my surprise, as the bartender proceeded to come out from behind the bar, bring checks, bring new menus, take orders, and make soft drinks. After another 15 minutes I asked again and was told, in a rude tone, that someone else was making my drinks. Surprised at the poor service, and now skeptical the drinks would ever be made, I asked to replace the drinks with a beer. After making another round on the floor and pouring a few more drinks, the bartender gave me a beer. No apology, no empathy, and apparently very annoyed. When I went back down, I was surprised we still didn't even have appetizers after 25 minutes. When appetizers came, there were no plates. Entrees were even more delayed and now we had kids breaking down waiting over an hour for Mac n cheese and chicken tenders. Even the dishwasher (who was very nice and hardworking) could tell we needed help and checked on us. When we asked for a manager, he went upstairs and came back down to tell us "the manager says you need to come upstairs if you want to talk". It's sad that any restaurant could expect to be successful with this as their customer service standard. The manager never spoke to us, no apologies from leadership, no comps, gratuity was included. Everyone can have a bad day, but the way we were treated was dreadful. Our three families of recurring customers will not be returning I hate leaving bad reviews, Coosa Clever just didn't care. I hope the owners see this and...
