My wife and I were on date night and decided to go with Altiro Latin Fusion-Wheaton. Upon arrival it was a very nice clean space. We were seated fairly quickly. We called ahead to see if there was a wait and there was not. The waiter addressed us right away when we sat down. We ordered water and needed time to look over the menu. It was our first time. We received our water and decided to order drinks (non-alcoholic). I ordered the strawberry lemonade and was given a regular lemonade. The waiter offered to change out but I did not mind at the time. My wife's drink was correct. We then ordered appetizers. I ordered the trio dip with chips and Wife ordered soup. About 10 minutes later we received. Chips and dip and soup were great. Our waiter came back 10 minutes later and I asked for another water and more chips. Waiter brought the water but no additional chips. This was after they offered more chips I did not even ask. About 20 minutes later our waiter had not come back and my wife and I had to second guess ourselves about whether we ordered dinner yet and we had thought with the length of time that we did but realized that we had not. The waiter had not come back to our table for so long that we were waiting for dinner and we had never ordered. At this point we stopped the waiter and asked for our check. We had been there about 1.5 hours and I have to say the service was very poor. Nice team they have working there but definitely not customer service focused. Multiple times we noticed several of the team hanging out at the bar. Talking and looking at their phones. Needless to say my wife and I were very disappointed in the service that we received. Hopefully everyone else's experience is better than ours. We will not...
Read moreMost bizarre restaurant experience I have ever had. We arrived at 4:15 today. Asked the waiter what margaritas were included in the 1/2 price Happy Hour and he listed them and we ordered them. Then we asked what tacos are included in the Happy Hour 1/2 price and he listed them and we ordered. He then told us at 5 pm that Happy Hour was over. We got the bill and he discounted the margaritas a bit but not 1/2 price and charged us full price for the tacos. I then mentioned that he told us that the drinks and tacos were on happy hour and then he said that they were not. I told him that we specifically asked which drinks and tacos were included on the happy hour menu. He continued to deny it all. I showed him the card on each table which explained the happy hour deal and he said the cards were wrong. I asked to speak to the manager and he said HE WAS THE MANAGER. We then asked the other waitstaff there and she said he was NOT THE MANAGER. The waiter then came over with a cell phone and has me talk to either the manager or the owner. I felt like I was being scolded or trying to pull something over on them when speaking on someone else’s phone. The man on the phone did agree to discount those items but made me feel like it was our fault. Will NEVER return! Wow! The waiter never apologized or took any responsibility. I did send a message to the restaurant via Facebook and they did respond and said the owner would call but he/she never did. My friend who works in the area spoke to a few of her coworkers and they said they had the same experience with the happy hour prices not...
Read moreUnfortunately had a subpar experience and food. As a server of 11+yrs, it takes a lot for me to be negative towards any kind of restaurant or food spot. First, we were sat in a crowded corner, when the entire restaurant was open(it’s only 2of us). We ordered the guac and chips appetizer, requested it to be traditional, since the menu offered traditional or with seasonal fruit. Our request was met with “the only way we make it is with the fruit”. That was fine. The guacamole was bland with minimal “seasonal fruit” of pomegranate seeds , pineapple and cojota cheese. We then ordered the carnitas tacos(pork) and Ala Gallina tacos (chicken) . The carnitas were lukewarm and tasted like bad pork. I will be grateful if we don’t get sick from the little we did try. The chicken was cooked through and the only saving grace was the sauce it was tossed in. Mind you our food took 12minutes from ordering to table - which typically would be exciting news, except it came it uncooked/funky food. At the end when we asked for our check, the server sees the uneaten tacos and asked if they were good. We said no and went our way. We were hopeful for this spot, but I believe it to be an overpriced and low low quality … if anyone is looking for good tacos go to Los...
