if I could give zero stars I would I went in there for the first time with my wife when we first got to wheeling, we were sitting at the table counting our chang to see what we could afford. The waitress was very very rude and they wanted us to pay for our meal first. So we just paid for our drinks and left, and as we got up to leave I heard the waitress say "thought so" and never went back. That is until one day a couple of weeks ago when I went to the Capitol Music Hall for a show with a friend. We are both disabled and can't walk or stand for long periods of time with I myself walking with a cane. We had been standing in line for a long time to get in to see the show. We were both tired and hungry and needed to sit for awhile. So she suggested The Bridge Tavern, and remembering how I was Treated the first time, I started NOT to go but against my better judgement I went in with her. The place is small to begin with so imagine our surprise when we saw empty tables with reserve signs, when any other time it's first come first served. They wouldn't let us even sit in the two empty chairs an the counter, and again they were very rude. so we left and went to find a place to sit. There was a place across the street that used to have a restaurant but it is shut down so we sat in the lobby to at least get off our feet. We saw several people come in just to be directed to other places blocks away. We heard people complaining about the sign on the door of the Bridge Tavern changing back and forth from Full to open. They lost a lot of customers that day including me and my friend. I'm sorry that is no way to do business Treating your customers like that. Needless to say I will never go back to the Bridge Tavern again. My money spends just as...
Read moreThe only reason it gets one star is because it's two buildings away from my work. Other than that, I'd give 0 if I could. The owner is downright RUDE and doesn't seem to want anything to do with his customers. He won't even take his half smoked cigar out of his mouth when he speaks to you. One day I had ordered food with a side of fries, over the phone, he read my order back to me and it was correct. So far so good, but when I went to pick up my order, there were no fries in the bag. I nicely told him my fries were missing and he had the audacity to tell me that I didn't order fries. After telling him that I did and that he even read the order back to me he continued to argue with me and tell me that I did not order them. Then one day I ordered breakfast and the owner told me that it would be 15 minutes, so I waited about 20 before heading over just so I knew it wouldn't have to wait long. I got there, there were 2 men eating at the bar and that's it and my food hadn't even been started yet!!! So I explained to him that I couldn't waste a lot of time and asked how long it would take and he said "it'll be done", knowing damn well he didn't even put my order in. It just sucks because this place is so convenient for me, but the owner is such a deterrent it makes me not even want to bother. Also, don't bother trying to get breakfast. Says they open at 10am, but you'll be standing on the sidewalk for a half hour waiting on them. Damn near NEVER open on time. What the hell kind of business is this? Can't even believe...
Read moreWe have been here several times and have always enjoyed our time here and had a good meal. On this visit, we brought another couple and had bragged to them about how good it is and how much we enjoy it here. However, this visit was a bit disappointing. Someone in our party asked our server if he could get the Philly steak sandwich in a wrap instead of on a bun. The server said he would ask. We watched him go ask the cook, and the cook gave the server a sharp "no" response. Don't know why this would be so difficult, but it was a definitive "no". What's so difficult about putting the steak in a wrap instead of on a bun?? Then we went to pay our bill, and I noticed the tip was included (20%) in the cost. No mention of this from the server or saw it posted anywhere. I don't know why a 20% gratuity would automatically added to our bill--we had a party of 4 people at our table. I admit the service was good, but I'll also say I typically leave a more generous tip when its not automatically added. I take this as an insult. When we left, the other couple commented that they weren't very impressed with the overall experience. I have to...
