Leo's Coney Island — Restaurant in White Lake Charter Township

If Leo's gave out awards for the worst cooks in all there locations this place would win the award hands down. I do not like bashing local restaurants but the owner of this location needs to know the truth. Your cooks are the worst. I have eaten at all the Leo's within 20 miles many times. All the other locations are very good and the food tastes great. I do not know why this place has the worst cooks at every Leo's within 20 miles! This was my second time eating here and this time was worst than the first time.

So what was the problem? The food was cold and all the fried foods tasted and looked terrible. The fries and chicken strips could not be eaten by my kid' the reason for this was the oil has broken down from not being filtered and changed in a timely fashion. This is the cooks job to make sure the food quality is up to Leo's standards. The food did not sit in window as I was watching because last time my food was also cold at this location. So this means the fries had to be pre made and just waiting to be served. The restaurant was not busy it was 5:00pm on Tuesday the 16th.

The chicken was also cold and my loose coney was just slightly warm.

The owner needs to try and eat at his restaurant....then go to another location and see how the food is supposed to be.

He should show this review to his cooks and also the waitstaff as this food should not have been served!

100% this will be my last time I ever set foot in this location....and yes I know I am reviewing the correct location M-59 next to the pet store and by Alpine Valley ski hill.

Train your cooks and waitstaff....rant over.

I love how the owner always makes excuses! How about change your restaurant for the better and make it a place people want to eat at! There is no way you can not agree you have the worst...

I am going to try not to rant, but at this point it's hard not to. If you dine in at this location, it's great! Especially since when they forget a part of your order, you can ask again for the rest of it. But carry out is a completely different story.

At least twice a month we order from Leo's carry out. I don't understand how it is so damn hard to remember to get WELL DONE FRIES! These limp, barely cooked, fries are despicable. More than 50% of the time (I'd say 65%) we order well done fries, they are limp, pathetic remnants of fries.

Now sauces... It's not that hard to take 2 seconds to look at the difference between the cucumber stuff & ranch... I've worked at plenty of restaurants & bars in my life & this is NOT HARD! If you have them so close together in the cooler that you cannot tell the difference, CHANGE THAT! At least 50% of the time, I don't get ranch.

To top it off, this is todays issue. Ordered fish & chips with well done fries & a side of ranch for the fries - they were reminded that I still wanted tarter sauce. The rest of the office got even more simple orders, almost all were the same, but I would get to those.

My order gets here, I am starving & excited (took a chance with the fish).... limp fries, no tarter, 1 tiny ranch in MAYBE a 2oz cup, not even half filled and 2 cucumber sauces... Thank you. Now not only do I have nothing for my fish, I don't really have anything for my fries either. I am done with...

Their service and food quality have gone extremely downhill. Sad really. For instance, ordered breakfast this morning. Hardly any gravy for biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were cold & dough-y. Omelette had very little in it. "Toast" was hardly even toasted, & not buttered. Curbside carryout is the ONLY good thing I have to say, & that's just for the convenience. I think it's definitely time to switch coney island restaurants.

12-17-22: Tried another curbside order. Waited 20 minutes. Had to call a second time. I get home all the way to Hartland, & there was an item missing from my order that I paid for. Tried calling back, spoke to someone who said her name so fast I didn't catch it, was put on hold, & then hung up on. That's your last chance, White Lake Leo's.

4-18-23: Incompetence and rudeness still reigns supreme. Another order totally screwed up, after waiting 20 MINUTES past when it was supposed to be ready. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! Everyone I know will know how rude & ignorant the staff at White Lake Leo's is. An omelette & biscuits & gravy should not be that difficult. Being polite to upset customers should not be...
