There’s a lot to get into here so follow along if it makes sense. We attempted to order from their website. Put in all of the order, payment, click submit…nothing happens. Tried again 4 times. No luck. So..We ordered via phone - the meal for two, two other bowls, side of rice and one extra naan for us and the guests we had at our house. Order was confirmed on the phone, said it would be ready in 20 minutes. Drove to get it, walked in, asked for the order under Tom or Kristy (my fiancé), was told they didn’t have any call-in order. Told them we called literally 20 minutes prior, but they insisted they didn’t have it. So I ordered at the kiosk, the exact order that we called in. Waited. Eventually she came out with a bag and said “we actually did have it, we just got the name wrong.” They had it as POM but my name is TOM. Seems like that’d be close enough they would’ve checked when I said “we called in an order,” but maybe that’s asking too much. I leave with the bag and then get all the way home only to find they didn’t include two of the dishes ordered. Yep it’s on me for not checking, however … Called them, they instructed us to drive back and get the missing items. We said no, we would like you to deliver it. They said instead they’d refund us for the missing items. Ended the call. Then realized we were missing a third item, called back and they again offered to refund that. As of this writing, no refunds have been issued or are pending. The food is damn good, but definitely do NOT try to order online or via phone, just go in and order the kiosk...
Read moreTikka masala and butter masala both with chicken - heavy cream no flavor. Tikka masala should have roasted marinated chicken- this does not it has tiny 1/8 inch cubes of pre cooked unknown chicken meat with cardboard flavour. The color is the right amount of turmeric but no ginger no garlic no Kashmir chili. They use canned tomatoes No melded spice just flat with fat- fat does not overcome missing. Butter chicken has no onions with mild sweet. Using cashew or yogurt for creamy texture is good but this is not used here. The nan was gross - pre made and lacking in the bits of crunch vs the yeasty body- a flat cold flour pancake almost uncooked and they are 5 inches across- she double charged me for this gross thing with no garlic both dinners were served cold. If you are ordering delivery don’t blame the driver in store the meal is slow as possible slopped in a plastic tray. I asked for water three times but the gorgeous waitress hid back close to the cook. I got up and served another customer ketsup that he requested and was ignored four times. I’m sorry I tipped and this is the scam of fast casual to make you pay a machine before you know there will be negative zero service. Portions tiny price huge. $50 for a throw away meal photo shows the sauce is thick and gloppy . My second try here and will not return oh and i asked for water for times but walked to the cooks delivery counter to be handed a 2 ounce cup. Paper plates tiny baby size plastic forks I could go on- just no don’t to say something nice: online website is colourful appealing...
Read more“Seriously good Indian food” is this store’s tagline. My experience at this Tikka Shack location was unfortunately quite disappointing, especially compared to a previous decent (nothing great) meal I had at their Mechanicsburg branch.
The small space operates with a self-service kiosk and almost zero staff interaction for ordering or follow-up, making it feel unwelcoming for dine-in. Free drinking water is also unavailable – you have to buy it. These folks don’t get the concept of dine in and operate primarily like a take out place. So the question is, why do you even bother?
Service was chaotic; my two items came 20 minutes apart, and I had to personally retrieve the second item from the packing counter after a significant wait. The staff member simply handed me a ready package without confirmation.
The food was a BIG letdown. The Paneer Tikka Wrap tasted primarily of cheese, like a quesadilla, with minimal paneer. The Biryani lacked flavor and taste entirely.
This location feels like a poorly run franchise focused only on takeout, sacrificing both service quality and authentic taste. It unfortunately doesn't represent Indian food well.
High prices. Poor service. Poor food taste. I recommend skipping this spot. “Seriously mediocre Indian food and poor service”
PS: I am not sure how this place has got so many 4 or 5 star reviews. This...
