Disclaimer: I've never had Church's outside of Texas and I've lived in Nevada for 10 years. My first attempt to visit this location ended abruptly because they could only take cash. My partner insisted I not get Church's because the chicken has always been tasteless, but I always got it because it pairs nicely with my Louisiana Hot Sauce. Pulling up to the drive thru it seemed as if they were not busy. I was a little leery of those in the parking lot, but I suppose that's just the neighborhood. I appreciated the abundance of items on the menu and the clarity of the menu in pricing. The person at the window was pleasant enough. I was alarmed to find my bill more than I had anticipated. The menu did not specify that having mixed pieces would increase the price. It simply stated 12 pc $18.99, chicken only or more for the meal. I chose chicken only. Asking for clarification , the person at the window informed me the price increased because they added wings and breasts. Oh well... I suspected that the food must have been under the heat lamps for a while because I received my order immediately and the aroma was not as strong as I would have expected it to be for fresh out of the grease chicken. After the drive home, I rushed inside (starving) to take my first bite. Boy was I disappointed... The breast looked overdone and tasted dry at the tip. I put it down and went to do something else. After I returned a few minutes later, to my surprise the rest of that piece and all the others were just as they should be. Crunchy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. I was very pleased. The fried apple pie crust was good but needed a dollop or two more of filling. I asked my partner if he enjoyed his dinner and he felt it was quite tasty, although he agreed the pie needed more filling. In spite of the pricing mishap, this place is alright with me. I am sure we will be back. EDIT TO THE REVIEW: I recently revisited this location and found that the prices were clear on the menu regarding dark and mixed pieces. I was asked to park and wait so I knew the food would be fresh and hot. This is the best Church's Chicken I've had in my memorable history! We are now dedicated Church's Chicken fans at my house. Another note on the hospitality... It's still lacking. The employees I encounter don't seem happy with their jobs, but these days I guess the question must be...
Read moreHave not been greeted both times I have been here. Had a long wait last time I was here so I decided to give it another chance. I ordered the 5 piece special. Half and half plus 2 biscuits. I saw they had mounds of golden delicious crispy chicken ready to be boxed up and handed out. While I waited I noticed a couple of teenagers making out on one of the tables closest to the front entrance. Girl was straddling boy, kissing, groping etc. Got very intense. I hoped someone would tell them to take it somewhere else. Several minutes later while everyone in the room pretended not to hear the low sighs and heavy breathing the boy pucks her up off his groin and what do I see? (No not that you pervs ...lol) The young man is wearing a Church's Chicken uniform. I glance at the shift manager at the front counter as she tells the cashier she will give her change when she came back from break. Told her she was heading to the restroom and told the young man to hurry and clock in wash and glove his hands. Twenty minutes later the gentleman that ordered a whole family meal 5 minutes after I did got his order. I asked how much longer for my 5 piece order and the girl says "We don't have any spicy chicken right now" That did it. I'm embarrassed to say I snapped at her while pointing to the man's 2 bucket mixed order of chicken. You had it 20 fricken minutes ago when I ordered it! Just give my order! She proceeded to box my chicken and half tossed the box on the counter and walked away. I checked my order and made sure it was correct because I'm planning to never set foot in this locale again. I see the manager walking towards the counter and i look at her and the girl grab my order off the counter and told she needed to cut back on the Sass and refrain from slamming and/or tossing a customers order because they are upset they had to wait 20 minutes, received no apology, and didn't get what she had originally ordered. They need to communicate with their customers and apologize and/or let them know of any delays and with their employees about proper work place conduct and behavior. All that drama folks for 5 little pieces of chicken. The only good thing I have to say is that the chicken was Bomb! Will be ordering again at a...
Read moreFirst, Do Not go thru the drive thru! I can't stress that enough. The speaker doesn't work well, and they are going to mess up your order, and you'll have to go inside to get it fixed anyway.
Now you may ask why bother coming here. Well, the chicken and deep-fried okra are really good. You just need to use a lot of patience and go inside to order.
The workers are nice but they can be quite incompetent. The woman at the register will screw up your order. That's a given, but you are right here thru the whole process, so you are able to correct her. Check your receipt because no matter how slow and clear you speak, she'll either leave off or add the word spicy.
Then, when you get your order, open every box, count all the pieces, not joking. They will swap out a drum stick for a thigh and a thigh for a breast or just short you a piece. They will forget at least one or two sides, especially the okra, so count them all.
Lastly, ask for utensils and napkins. They'll say they are in the bag, but they won't be. Just tell them you want extra.
It seems a lot to go thru, but after a while, it'll become second nature for you. What can I say, the chicken, especially the spicy,...
