Not even worth it anymore. They need to hire better cooks that know how to fry well and actually care about what they are sending out under their brand. The tenders were soggy and mushy, the packaging it came in was also soggy, broken and dented in. Some of the strips were wet/soggy and none of them were great texture-wise, to be honest. The fries weren't fresh and were cold. The cornbread was soggy and falling off at the top. The only okay foods were the white cheddar mac & cheese (had to add my own seasonings to make it delicious), the toast that somehow stayed dry and the sauces. We tossed the chicken, fries and cornbread. It was very obvious they didn't care about quality or presentation. I wasted over $60 tonight on a meal from them just to try and give them another chance (yes, they've disappointed my family prior to this) because we initially fell in love with the seasonings and flavors. We could have just went to Popeyes and paid less for chicken we KNOW will have that superior crispiness/crunchiness and hot, fresh fries. Next time! Chick N Max has been a disappointment with poor quality food and packaging for some time now which is why we stopped ordering from them for a while. We will no longer be supporting any Chick N Maxs around here.
Ironically, Uber Eats just notified me that I'm officially a 'regular' with Chick N Max and to leave a positive review as to why I'm proud to be a regular. I just skipped it and closed out the app. It's...
Read moreI went to ChickNMax on a whim while in Wichita for work. I travel all over the US for my job, so I'm somewhat jaded regarding food, especially chicken. Well, my paradigm for chicken wings, tenders, and smoked chicken has been shifted. Simply stated, I have a new favorite chicken restaurant. The service was excellent, the store very clean and tastefully decorated, the music was not loud, and staff checked several time to make sure my expectations were met. Aside from delicious chicken, the sauces and spices are all proprietary. I highly recommend the jalapeno-lime as it pairs with anything. I'll be ordering online, and yes, all these fine flavors can be found on the ChickNMax website. The wings are the most enjoyable I've ever had, and the tenders were moist, well cooked, loaded with flavor and perhaps most important to me, not salty. The smoked chicken comes on a brioche bun with pickles. It is a flavor combination that's nigh impossible to top. Unless topping with the jalapeno-lime sauce 😁
Max, the owner, swung by my table and also asked about my satisfaction with my meal- it is great to see an owner with such an investment in customer well-being. His passion for great chicken and customer service was evident as we talked about flavors and growing his restaurant's locations. Now I relish the day I may be able to enjoy this smorgasboard of culinary delight in my native...
Read moreWe had never heard of Chick'N Max until just a few months ago. A visit to their website told me that they just might replace our weekly visits to Popeyes, which is actually just a few blocks from us. Sadly, our inaugural order with this establishment actually left a lot to be desired. So, here's what happened. I placed a family order thru their online system to pick up at a later time that day. When I arrived, I noticed that our order was already bagged and sitting on the counter waiting for me. Great! I usually have to wait awhile after arriving at other establishments after placing an order for a future time. When we got our order home, well, everything was soggy, limp and just luke-warm. The box holding the fries was actually so soggy it was falling apart. Obviously, our food had been prepared much sooner than my pickup time and had been sitting out on the counter for a considerable amount of time before I arrived. Why wasn't my order sitting under a warmer to keep it hot? It's not a great first impression to have for a 'newish' establishment. Maybe we'll give it a second try some day. But, for now, we've resumed our patronage to the 'other'...
