As someone who has worked in the service industry for multiple years, I understand that mistakes happen, and I would never fault a server for being busy. However, I would also never speak to a customer the way our waitress did at Oasis.
We arrived well within the happy hour window, knowing exactly what we wanted. Our waitress took 10 minutes to bring our sodas, coming back halfway realizing she had forgotten them. Which is fine and that’s not what made us react. By the time she brought them, we were just 4 minutes past the cut-off—but only because of her mistake. When we politely asked if she could still honor the happy hour pricing as we only came for appetizers, she rolled her eyes and snapped, "Can’t you see I’m busy?" She never once apologized, and we weren’t even upset until she gave us attitude for something that wasn’t our fault.
To make matters worse, she later lied to other employees, claiming we hadn’t arrived in time when we absolutely did - 10 minutes to spare. Whenever we asked her about honoring the happy hour she said “I don’t even know what time it is” where is the logic in her saying we lied about the time when she didn’t even know the time herself because she was so busy?!? Instead of owning up to her mistake or even just handling the situation professionally, she resorted to ROLLING her eyes in our face when we were speaking kindly to her. Her complete lack of professionalism will follow her through every job she works, and it’s clear she has no business in customer service. When my mom went back in to talk to the manager, she was standing at the front with another employee pointing at my mom saying, “there she is”. I thought she was too busy to stand around?? If we were to have stayed to eat, I’m sure there would have been spit in our food judging off her snooty attitude. Some people just shouldn’t be in this industry, and she is one of them. I would never lie about an experience, this is said with FULL integrity as business owner myself. I won’t be...
Read moreWe came in after 9pm on Wednesday. It wasn't busy, just maybe 10 or less people. We weren't greeted by a waitress or waiter for about 10 minutes, maybe less. My husband finally went and grabbed menus from the bar. The bartender then came over and brought us water that my husband ordered while getting menus. She said she wasn't sure where the waitress was, and apologized. Once we did see the waitress, she never once spoke. Didn't come to the table or anything. The cook brought out our appetizer and then the bartender brought out our food. All was good, fresh, as usual. We seen the waitress a handful of times throughout our dinner but she never once asked if we needed anything, but then when we were ready to pay, she wanted to ring us out. The bartender told her no thanks, she'd finish us up. But then she forgot to take off the Groupon I presented. At this point, we were just ready to go. Bartender was so nice, but seemed slightly annoyed that the waitress was too busy to wait on customers. Or really, just us, seeing as how she helped the other 2 tables just fine. We were annoyed as well, as this is the 2nd time the waitstaff has been this way towards us. We're not regulars but we are polite and we tip well. Not sure what the problem is. But...as...
Read moreStill baffled at how a table of 7 people was treated with such horrible service tonight. A local establishment at that. After my years of food service I would be so embarrassed if I was that server. In 2 hours I only had 3 drinks. Ordered 2 as soon as we got there since it was 2 for 1's(time is 5:30), then took an hour to get another drink. Even if you're "new" to the serving industry, that was ridiculous. Had to call the bar after waiting 45 (time is 6:12) minutes for our server to come take our order. At around an hour (time is 6:30) of waiting she finally takes our order. Takes another 20 minutes for everyone's drinks to come (time is now 6:42). 7:15 comes around and we kinda want to go home. At this point we've talked to the bar tender asking for our food to come out or we're leaving without paying. I've also talked to the server trying to see where our food is at with no response from her. At 7:30 we finally decide to leave some bills (to somewhat cover the drinks)...
