Had a very disappointing experience. I had placed a call in order to go while I was out doing a bit of shopping at the local family dollar. Set the expectation of 10 to 15 minutes for pickup is what I was told. I get there the hostess that takes my money was very kind and apologetic because my order wasn't ready. About ten minutes into me being there waiting on my call in order, I realize that I wasn't charged for part of what I ordered so I go to the register, wait another 5 minutes at least with people walking by the register basically not stopping to help me! The same gal that initially took my money seen me as she came around the corner she had been out waiting on tables. I proceed to tell her that I did not think my hummus and pita bread had been rang up she agreed it had not, she puts in the order and handles the transaction for me. Meanwhile as I wait, and we're 20 minutes in at this point my gyro comes up but it was served with fries rather than the salad that I up paid for in order too omit french fries. I hear the cook say oh my bad, and shrug it off like it's nothing lol keep in mind 25 minutes in @ this point on a call in order. When my order is complete a couple of the employees called me over and asked me what I ordered because they've seen me sitting there for so long, I get them on track with what I ordered and then they're bagging my order and the nice gal that helped me at the register said I made sure they put in some extra dressing for you like you had ordered. I said thank you very much I appreciate that, and the next thing I know some other employee and if I had to guess maybe a manager or an assistant manager not sure which but she looked like she was walking around with the composure that she was somebody important, chimes in and says she paid for that right? lol it kind of floored me considering she looked at me at least 10 times in the 30 minutes I sat there and waited for my order and almost looked through me rather than saying I'm sorry you're still waiting or let me check on your order I know you've been waiting a long time etc.. rather she rudely make sure that I paid for the extra dressing. To top it all off the gyro and the hummus that I ordered wasn't a wow moment it was just okay.. hummus had no flavor whatsoever, and the gyro was just a gyro skimpy and bland. and of course it is the third time I've eaten at this restaurant. First time was a dining experience, second time was a GrubHub order this time was a call in/ carry out. I was excited about it coming to the neighborhood when it did a couple years ago, and as convenient as it is to me, because I literally live right down the street from it, I will never eat...
Read moreJust ate here tonight with my mother. Our server, Lori, was spot-on in keeping our glasses full and updated us on the status of our food as well. Bonus: she asked out lemon slices in the water before dumping them in. My mother had the Reuben soup, which was tasty. I had the bierock. The breading was not the traditional pastry style I’m used to, but the filling was not of this earth, crazy good. I wasn’t able to complete my meal, though. I was less than half done when I had to get a to-go box and leave the restaurant. The reason? A child who was running, yelling, snarling, chaotically careening through the establishment. And no one was doing anything about it. Not a soul. I have sensory issues. They don’t always affect me, but when they do, unexpected loud noises and excessive movements in small places are almost unbearable for me. I was immediately nauseous and had to put my head down; I was lucky I was with someone who understood my symptoms and that I needed to leave quickly. As we were exiting, we learned from the table next to us that the child was related to the owner of the restaurant. Of course children should play and grow and live and express themselves. They have to find themselves and become who they are meant to be. However... a public and professional place of business is a place of business. What if the child, for example, ran into a server carrying hot food that spilled onto a customer? Or ran into my mother, who walks with a cane? What if the screaming upsets another individual with a disorder who isn’t able to calmly remove themselves from the situation? I may be attacked for “child hating” with this one, and that’s not at all what I’m doing. I think the service is great and the food was very good, but the atmosphere has the potential to...
Read moreWe've been here twice. The first time we had great service. The second time the service was absolutely terrible. We had a young girl with short, dark hair and glasses. If you go in and get sat with her, ask for someone else. She either knew nothing about waiting tables or just didn't care at all. She knew nothing about the special that was written on the board up front, didn't even know it existed. Never asked how I wanted my eggs cooked before moving on the the next person's order, I had to tell her. So she took our order and that was the only time she came to the table. Someone else brought our food out. We were short one silverware so we waited for her to come by to ask for some. She never came. My husband finally had to go up to the counter to ask for some. We ate our food and it was good.(which is the only reason I gave 3 stars, that and our 1st experience was good. Otherwise it would have been 1 star) My son ran out of his drink. She never came by for refills. We ended up needing some boxes. We waited. Had to go back up to the counter to get them. Waited on our check. It never came. We had to go up and ask for it. All the while our "waitress" (if you can call her that, because she literally did nothing to serve us) could be seen up in the counter area just standing around and talking with the other girls and looking extremely bored. I noticed we weren't the only ones not having good service. Other customers had to also go up front to try to get checks. One man just got up and walked out after being sat and waiting for someone to come to the table for a long time. There was no shortness of staff either, there were many servers around and there's no reason for service to be as...
