Good Company Taps & Spirits | Pennant Coffee — Restaurant in Wichita

This review is for Good Company, not Pennant. Pennant is great. I just popped in to get a coffee. It’s already turned over to Good Company, so I asked if they’re still serving coffee. The barista was very rude. She said they are still serving coffee, so I waited a bit. Another barista came out, smiled, and left, so I waited for the first one. When she addressed me again, she said I could sit down, but I told her I’d like it to-go. I wasn’t sure where to stand/wait, so I asked, and she clapped her hands as she explained I’m going to have to wait whether I stand here or there or sit down, so she suggests to the others that they sit, but she emphasized again that I’m “going to have to wait” (clapping her hands together with each syllable), so I can do with that what I will. So I left. It was a weird experience, to say the least, but it was that Midwest passive-aggressive-rude that I do not prefer....

This is a small but comfortable spot with varied seating and a chill, friendly, and helpful staff. The pizza was amazing! It's my new favorite pizza in Wichita. We had the tomato buratta and the apple briefly pizzas. Two slices was plenty to fill us up! The arugula salad was OK; it could have used some other ingredients. We also had the vermouth soaked and sliced olives. There were plenty to share, and they were tasty. My wife had wine from a limited selection. I had a couple of rye old fashions, and they were really good. I got the smoked option but couldn't detect the smoke. If there's an up-charge for the smoke (I didn't ask), I'd skip it.

Pizza crust way too thick and bready for my taste. Sauce is spicy hot and that isnt mentioned in the menu at all or waiters explanation. I picked 50 dried hot pepper seeds off of it. Why cant we just expect no hot spices? Add it if you want it. Oh and we were brought 3 waves of snacks and food, but never any napkins? I thot only drive throughs forgot that. Drinks are just ok. Some folks really liked em. Non Alcohol Options were appreciated. Service was ok to middlin. Our group played cards and had a nice evening-out here despite the unwished...
