WOW! This is an amazing stadium for Wichita. This is the home of our minor league baseball team, the Wichita Windsurge. We attended the Derby vs Newton football game as part of the high school series. There was open seating, and our seats were awesome. We did purchase our tickets at the box office rather than online. We had a table with 3 seats. This was perfect, especially since I'm not a fan of traditional stadium seating. During a regular Windsurge game, I'm sure this is prime seating, which may cost a little more. It's also covered, you won't be watching sports in the rain. The food is amazing and the prices are reasonable. We had the chicken strip/fry basket. The chicken strips are huge. However, I would not buy the hotdog. Ballpark hotdogs should be substantially larger, Riverfront Stadiums are not. I didn't notice until after we purchased our food; there was another concession area with pizza as well as other ballpark menu items. The employees who worked the night of our game were very friendly, helpful, funny, and extremely welcoming. They are proud of the stadium. You can see it in their faces and hear it in the conversations. As I looked around the stadium, I was impressed with all the work put into building this for our city. I noticed the private boxes, which I'm sure come with a hefty price tag. I also looked over at the picnic areas. This area is open and looks fun. Can you imagine taking in a baseball game on a nice spring evening. I watched kids play as they took turns rolling down the grassy hills on this warm October evening. This definitely won't be my last time at Riverfront Stadium. Who knows, I may take in a baseball game next year in order to experience the true Riverfront...

The first class baseball stadium of Delano, at Sycamore and Maple.

Pros: It’s a beautiful venue inside and out, and still feels brand new. Riverfront really has a great vibe to it because of how slick the place looks and feels day or night. The stadium has a ton of seating options and plenty of space to explore and admire the field. The high school football games held there are a terrific way to have locals visit the stadium who are not so interested in baseball.

Cons: It’s a card payment only place which seems unreasonable on the high school nights. The entire field has the protective netting in front of it everywhere which hinders the view quite a bit and doesn’t come down for non baseball events,(concerts will definitely suffer if they ever have them.) The parking directly across from Sycamore is dangerous because the street does not have speed bumps and people fly down that road without regard to those crossing properly and I witnessed a near catastrophic collision with a pedestrian. A safer crossing option should be provided if the stadium is directing traffic into those lots.

All in all, this is still a wonderful addition to the surrounding downtown area, but does have a few major flaws. I look forward to the spring for...

This was a madhouse to enter. Security checks need to be streamlined. 7500 people in attendance and 45 minutes in line just to get into the stadium. My Swiss Army knife had to be tossed because they weren't allowed in the stadium, even though I've taken it into every other event I've ever attended. That knife was in my pocket daily and had been for over 15 years. I get the bigger, lock blade, knives, but not a small pocket knife. There were tons of comments heard about how poorly the entrance security checks were handled.

We ordered hot dogs only to have dry, hard buns because they put the dogs and buns under a heat lamp in an open "food boat", no wat to keep the buns soft that way, they might as well be tossed in a toaster.

Now the good. Very nice stadium. Not a lousy seat in the house. Plenty of food and drink and the lines moved quickly and efficiently. Everything is "no touch", from restrooms to food and souvenir purchases. Machines are placed strategically around that allow conversion from cash to debit. There is no other cash used throughout, which could be bad for some. Seating is comfortable and roomy, plenty of knee space and drink holders at every seat.

Get some stuff fine tuned and this will be and incredible venue...

A very nice ballpark with plenty of space on the concourse. I like the 360-degree concourse, which is a standard design for most sporting venues anymore, offering fans the opportunity to see the game from different perspectives. The sightlines are good from anywhere, and I walked around to different spots during the course of the game. The main team store is nice and large; I was impressed. (I've been to all of the other former Texas League ballparks, save for Amarillo, and over 55 MLB/MiLB parks.) There could be better signage for the shop; I originally thought that the secondary team store behind first base was the main one! The main issue was with the concession stands. The lines were long at some, particularly those behind home plate. In other places, the lines ran perpendicular across the concourse, creating the need for people to cut through the line to keep walking. Once the staff figures out how to maximize the space, adding points of sale and smaller, mobile concession stands along the concourse to reduce lines at the main stands behind home plate, it should be a five-star experience. Wichitans have a gem of a ballpark to enjoy!
