What a horrible take out experience. Let me suggest that if you order take out from this establishment that you purposefully take the time, no matter what, to look in the bags provided and assure yourself that the order has been fulfilled, because if there is an error, they will not treat you with any grace or appropriate business acumen. We ordered approximately $85 worth of food and pre-tipped to over $100. My son drove 15 minutes to get our order. When he arrived home, his entree had not been included. We called. The young lady who picked up the phone immediately admitted they had mistakenly not provided the order. I told them my son would return by way of another 15 minute drive, and inquired if they would do anything for us with regard to their mistake. They offered an order of egg rolls. Not much, but fine. We accepted. My son returned. They gave him a bag and he came home. His order was in the bag, but no agreed upon egg rolls. I called again to discuss their error and was hung up on. Horrible business practice to say the least. Just a word of warning to all. The sad thing is their food is good. Feel sorry for the poor guy shelling out really good stuff from the kitchen who has to live with a service staff that has no clue about how to take care of a...
Read moreIt’s been years since I’ve been back to eat Malaysia Cafe’s food. The Char Kway Teow does have different noodles and taste a little different than how I remembered it when I was in college. Noodles were cooked perfectly with a slight chew, the bean sprouts added the perfect crunch, and the smoky taste that you could tell was wok cooked at first bite made the dish. I do wish it was a tad more saucy and had more meat. They may have changed hands over the years but regardless, it was still pretty good.
The Chicken Satay and Maylasia Pancakes with their sauces were even better than I remembered them. I could honestly use the sauces/ curry on everything, it’s that tasty.
The gal at the front taking orders was very kind and had a good attitude. I ordered to go and the food was out quick. There are tables and chairs if you want to sit there to eat. Cost was reasonable. I do plan to come by more often when I’m in the area to expand to my favorites list. Especially since there are so many different options...
Read moreMy lady and I ordered food without realizing that the restaurant was closing in roughly 15 minutes. Despite us being late to order and to pick up the food, the staff was incredibly pleasant to us. One of the owners spoke with us as well and we had a wonderful conversation. Once we did finally realize that the restaurant was closing/closed, it was clear to us that we did not deserve this kindness but we appreciated it nonetheless.
As for the food, we ordered a 4 piece chicken Satay, BBQ pork fried rice, Hokkien char mee noodles, and the Sambal Chili paste stir fry. All of these items were phenomenal and earned a 10/10 rating from us. The meat was consistently tender and savory and each item packed a powerful flavor without being covered in too much sauce. We will absolutely be going back to Malaysia cafe sometime very soon and will be sure to do so at an appropriate time!
I implore everyone who lives in Wichita to check out this fantastic...
