It was an off night for the local Red Lobster. It seemed that a lot of systems were not working as intended.
I took my mother here as a treat for both of us. We normally don't go to Red Lobster because we feel the prices are a little higher than comparable options. But I had a gift card, so we decided to go here.
The restaurant was rather empty. I would say10-15% of the tables had customers. It seemed to take a while to put our drink orders in. I would have expected the biscuits right away to munch on while we waited for our order to be taken. However, those didn't come until the salad was brought.
We both order the create your own feast and both selected the sirloin as an option. Both of our steaks appeared to be end cuts they were not the choicest of cuts. They were really not great steaks, just OK at best. I had lobster tail and breaded shrimp while she had the sea scallops and coconut shrimp. Both of these were pretty good. However, all of the food came from the kitchen lukewarm. It seemed they sat dying under a poorly functioning heat lamps. These selections might have been excellent if they were hot, or at least warm.
At least 3 other parties sent food back while we were there. It was obvious something was wrong in the kitchen and/or food delivery systems. We did bring it to the attention of our server but didn't send anything back as we had eaten most of our meal when we provided the feedback. They did offer a discount which we had not asked for. We were not seeking compensation but wanting to provide feedback. We also provided that some of the food was good but could have been better at temp.
This was not indicative of past experiences at other locations of Red Lobster and was my first visit to this location. I would assume this was a one-off experience, but it should be noted that it occurred. I guess my point would be that there is a great possibility that all locations aren't consistent and poor experiences can easily pop up.
The next time I am looking for a pricier option as a treat for myself I am not sure Red Lobster would be a top contender when other options in the price range are likely to be...
Read moreHonestly a pretty bad experience for my sister in laws wedding. Her dad set up the reservations in person and was told all about how we should go with Red Lobster and not Texas Roadhouse because of "unlimited shrimp" ...till 6pm (they made sure to leave that part out) our reservations were for 6, and when he called to confirm a few days before, they said we weren't even on the schedule. So he had to make them AGAIN. The manager we talked to (unsure of name) completely lied to our faces when we got there and said he never mentioned endless shrimp for our "birthday party" (he clearly didn't remeber this was a wedding dinner). He was rude and did not provide any assistance on the issue and nearly everyone was forced to change their order 15 minutes after ordering because it wasnt available for us. Besides the shrimp issue, which will become minor in the grand scheme of issues that would happen last night, food was mediocre and just a down right disappointment. I personally got a Cajun Chicken pasta which has under cooked noodles and rubbery chicken. I ordered a Titos Strawberry Lemondade that came 20 minutes after everyone else's drinks, and while our server was nice, they just operated really slowly for our party of a few people. When it was time for wedding cake they acted confused that we needed plates again, despite her father filling them in on every detail possible before hand. Over all none of us will be returning, and reccomend that you make your reservations for special nights elsewhere because this Red Lobster clearly can't handle a...
Read moreThe service was horrible we got there host didn't smile say anything then waited 10 minutes to have the waitress ask us for drinks. Ordered the food and drinks and the same time. Waited an hour to get our food part of my meal was missing then that piece of salmon was raw on the inside waited 25 minutes after receiving my food to inform the waitress because took her that long to even check on us then yes they took off the food because was completely not cooked but to be sitting with 2 kids in a restaurant for over 1.5 hrs and then food was wrong besides that is completely unacceptable. Will not be ever going back to red lobster again worst experience in my life. Plus we sent raw fish back the manager never even came over to the table to apologize for the mistake with our food we just had the server who came and never checked on us during the meal took food back and once she came back with our check and only with meal taken off should of been taken better care of by the restaurant and manager. Plus after 45 minutes of waiting for our food had to ask another servicer to ask hey where is our food been waiting for a very long time when several people who got there after us got there food 20 minutes before us so just sitting and sitting waiting forever I don't complain about thing very often because I believe people are human but this experience was one the...
