First time ever trying out sickies. We love a good burger spot, we have many of our own in Wichita that we love. But thought about going out and exploring another one. We were greeted by our waitress within a couple minutes of being seated, so far so good. Then she came back with our drinks and asked us if we were ready to order, we ordered the sick bacon and eggs for an appetizer. She took a couple minutes then came back for our entree order, we put that in and I could tell she was a little overwhelmed (Iāve been in the service industry for 11 years) so I take total empathy to the busy shift and all things restaurant. After about 20-25ish, maybe even 30 minutes we witnessed a lot of tables around us receiving their appetizers and some tables that got sat after us even receiving their entrees. We started to get a little antsy at this point. She then comes over and seems a little confused for a sec and then says ālet me go check on your appetizerā after about 2-5minutes she slightly tosses the bacon and eggs on the table without a word and walks off. Again I get being busy and behind. But the manor she delivered it wasnāt acceptable. So my partner and I kind of process it and just shake our head, weāre starving at this point. Iām not sure if they were supposed to be ādeviled egg styleā or just plain jane yolk whipped up and put back in? The jalapeƱos didnāt give me any type of ācandiedā the bacon was decent. But I was kind of disappointed from what was in front of me especially to wait 30 mins for it and the service I received. We continue to wait for our entrees. Approx maybe 10-15 mins later The table that was sat after us has already enjoyed their meal and was packing up to leave. The waitress comes by to say something along the lines of sorry that itās taken so long and Iāll have the manager come by. The manager comes over about 5ish or so minutes later and says āsorry we got busy and things are running behind, but your food should be out, I could give you a 20% discount and box up your orderā my partner at this point is highly upset and expressed weāve been there for close to an hour and mentioned all of what was stated above. About another 5 minutes later the manager went to check on the food and said we are next of the few orders to come up. Now my partner is expressing that he doesnāt want the entrees anymore and the money doesnāt even matter. He just wants to pay for the eggs and leave. ANOTHER table of 4 that was seated and ordered after us receives their meal. the manager comes around the corner after a couple minutes with our to go boxes of food. We deny the entrees and he ran our card and paid for what we did consume. The manager didnāt say another word after paying and walked off. Absolutely horrible experience....
Read moreMy boyfriend wanted us to come check this place out, he's a sucker for a good burger joint, and it was new to us. It was on a Saturday, during lunch, around noon. The restaurant was very busy, and our wait was 45 minutes. Luckily, there's a harbor freight right behind it, so we killed the time there. I guess that's great, if you don't mind looking at all things tool related, which we don't lol. We finally got sat down around 12:45ish, and we were super excited to see all of the non-conventional burger options, and there was A LOT. I ultimately decided on the jalapeño peanut butter burger, because it looked so decadent and gooey on the picture in the menu, and my boyfriend got the spare tire (double cheeseburger essentially), we got water to drink, and fried green beans for an appetizer (yummy) Our friend that was with us also got the spare tire, and some loaded tator tots as an appetizer. The inside of the restaurant was cool, but very noisy. Anywho, both of our appetizers were on point, but when my burger arrived, I was disappointed to say the least. My patty was overcooked, the bun wasn't toasted, it had a smear of peanut butter, and a small amount of cheese. I definitely expected more, for the money it costs, but I digress. It was just meh to me, it didn't blow my mind, and it definitely was not Bubbas 33 quality. Our friend wound up eating his burger without the bun, and didn't even finish the patties. Needless to say, he wasn't impressed either. My boyfriend thought his was great, but I'm thinking he may have just been hungry lol. The service was great, and our server kept on top of things, even though she was busy. I want to give them another chance, later down the road, perhaps during less busy hours. They are brand new, so once things settle down, they might have quality of food, over quantity of food, mindset. It was a little pricey, $43.00 for my boyfriend and I, excluding what we tipped, for two burgers w/a side, fried green beans, and two waters. In all, I recommend people try it, but wait until after the new wears off. Which will eventually happen, if you remember anything of when the cracker barrel opened on Ridge Road....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time coming here after much anticipated opening. This place is a mixture a car/automotive lovers hang out and a foodies paradise! The location is reminiscent of an automotive shop with car memorabilia including pictures, old parts and even vehicles hanging on the wall minus the oil soaked rags smell. The hostess stand is a roll around tool box even. The outside has a car lift with an old chevrolet C30 on it. The service is excellent as all the staff are friendly and very helpful. The food is out of this world. The food all have automotive themed names. There is a large selection of appetizers, over 50 different burgers and 50 plus beers on tap. There is also salads, wings with over 25 flavors including PB&J, steaks, chicken tenders and fish and chips. The finale, if you still have room, is the adult milkshakes with flavors like silly rabbit, cinnamon toast and root beer. We got the spare parts for an appetizer which has fried jalapeƱos, fried cheese curds, fried pickles and fried onion straws then regular ranch or spicy ranch dipping sauce. The main dish I got was the Chowzilla burger which included 2 beef patties with cheese sandwiched between three pieces of texas toast, four strips of bacon, fried pickles and jalapeƱos along with OH YEAH hot sauce. This burger is as massive as it sounds and was just as good. They have a full bar and menu including several local beer selections on tap, including cocktails and mocktails. This place also has a gift shop selling hot rod shirts hoodies, hats and other memorabilia, as if this place wasnāt big enough already. This is a place I will definitely be back to. It is a great place to take friends, guest and out of town visitors as it is a great...
