I love this place. I am Mexican born and raised so I can tell what’s authentic and what’s not, and I recommend 110% the tacos de carnitas. They taste just like Mexico City. Other things like the nachos or burritos while not exactly authentic (that’s just Tex mex) are still good. The cheese dip is amazing! I could drink that lol. The tamales are pretty good too.

The Carnitas on the Carnitas plate were delicious. Half pitcher of skinny Margarita was enough for 2 and reasonable priced. The restaurant need to implement a better receipt process, since they don't give you an itemized receipt, just the total of the food purchase, which can be confusing. Kids eat free on Tuesdays evenings. They have Mon-Sunday lunch specials.

People often ask me where my 'go to' restaurant is. It is hands down Vallarta's in Wildwood. We have been coming here for almost 11 years on the regular. This is our dinner spot, ladies margarita night out, after school event stop or catching up with a friend place.

Great food, but the place is run by the worst servers I’ve seen. This is close to our home, so we have been here often. The last time we went (the very last time for sure), we were served by a lady who looked like one of the lead servers. She took our order and did not provide water before we ordered. It was just my husband and I visiting. We had almost finished the meal and were talking. She came and asked if she can give our check. We said yes and continued talking. She came with the check and took our plates away!!!! We did not have much left to take out in box, but that was so rude! After she brought our credit card back, she waited till we signed it! Have never been treated so differently. Will not...

Just goes to show how poor customer service can ruin a good thing. Like the food, but made the mistake of leaving our "doggie bag" on the table...we got to the car, realized we'd left it and returned, just a couple minutes. But it was already gone, and thrown away. A waiter said he'd "get us a couple" of the burritos, a nice offer since I didn't even ask...then, after a few minutes, the manager piped in, "Hey, amigo", he says to me, condescendingly, " We aren't responsible for items left on the table". Well, I didn't ask for a replacement, you guys volunteered. Enough said, "Amigo", we won't ever be back. Certainly ruined...

I grew up in Southern California, so I have certain expectations for Mexican food. I am used to the style of food common in Northwest Mexico. I assume this restaurant is named in honor of the port city in Jalisco, which means the regional cuisine is not likely to be what I'm used to even if it's 100% authentic because Jalisco is so much farther south than Baja California. It's not my favorite Mexican restaurant just because it's not just like home, but there's nothing wrong with the food quality and if you order the same thing twice you'll get the same thing twice. The prices, however, are great and they do not short...
