I was visiting my friend in MO this weekend, and on my last day there, we decided to have brunch here. It was probably the most HORRIBLE experience I’ve had in a long time. When we got there we had to wait 30 mins to be seated because they were super busy, which was totally fine. At the 35 min mark we decided to go in to see how much longer it would be and the whole lobby had been cleared out and sat. It’s almost like they forgot we were waiting. But nonetheless- we were sat upon entering and were greeted, we ordered our food, & everything seemed off to a good start... Until we had been waiting for the food for about 35 mins. We began to get antsy and I looked at the window to see if our food was in it, I saw one of our plates but not mine, so I figured it wasn’t our order. 15 more mins go by and i watch our server, Noah, finally go to the window and pick up the EXACT plate i noticed that has been sitting in the window for 15 mins and brought the food over to us. They forgot the hash browns on my friends order and messed mine up completely. I ordered the fried chipotle chicken sandwich and was brought a chicken salad sandwich. I’m usually not one to get upset by things like that but after waiting an hour for the wrong order, I started to get annoyed. Noah, our server, didn’t seem very apologetic he didn’t rush the kitchen or check on my food, he was very Nonchalant & instead he got more ice for the drink stations and was greeting other tables and basically ignoring us because I’m sure he felt the tension of us being upset after how long we had been there. I was watching the window like a hawk for my chicken sandwich, it took another 20 mins I would say before it appeared. At this point I had been waiting an hour and 20 mins. I was very irritated because there were servers and management walking around in circles hands behind their back, servers talking to each other and no one was running the food. There was also only 4 other tables in the dining room, so it had slowed down a lot. I told a manager that my sandwich was in the window, he was a tall bald gentleman named Ryan I believe, and he said “ok” in the most dismissive tone. It was clear no one there cared about anything. My hands were shaking from being so mad and I was honestly wanting to leave but I kept my composure and was finally brought my food and told that it would be taken off the bill, as it should be. So I thanked Noah and ate my dry, charcoal-like chicken sandwich, which didn’t have the hot sauce or chipotle Mayo on it that it described on the menu. I was brought the check and the biggest slap in the face of all, was that my sweet tea was still on the bill. Like who comps the food but leaves the drink? Especially when it wasn’t refilled even once. So since i was being charged for my tea i wanted one to go to get the most of my $3.96. I asked Noah for one to go and was brought unsweet tea. So i asked a different server to bring me a sweet tea, and low and behold i was brought unsweet tea again. At this point, i was so ready to get out of there so I paid for my one glass of sweet tea & left & will NEVER come back. Im not sure if everyone there hates their jobs, or if they just don’t care, but they need to clean house and/or get some management to re-train the...
Read moreThe first thing my wife and I noticed was the smell of raw sewage as we entered. While noticeable it was not so pungent in our booth away from the door. It took nearly five minutes to get a waitress to take or drink order and then finally our waitress showed up to take our food order. At 11:45 AM on Tuesday afternoon they were out of grits. Just over twenty minutes later we finally get our food. My scrambled eggs are straight out of a cartoon. My hash browns were super crispy on the outside and nearly raw on the inside. My bacon is almost under done for me, which says a lot since I don't like my bacon at ask crispy. My wife's eggs over easy are cold. And I mean COLD, not even the least bit warm. Finally get her warm eggs and she finishes up several minutes after I do. We them sit and wait for the bill. It took an hour and 15 minutes to have a lunch of pancakes, eggs, hash browns and toast. And the eggs and hash browns were cold. I don't think e will be going back to Sunny...
Read moreI wish we lived a little closer to this place because it would be a part of my morning routine. So why not 5 stars? This is what I didn't like: Indoor seating area was freezing. Restrooms we're clean but old. Outdoor chairs were the metal armchairs which were not comfortable. Here is what they did right: They specialize in breakfast and lunch food so they cook it well. We we're seated quickly and server was friendly and attentive. Our food arrived quickly and correctly as ordered. The food tasted really good. I had the Johnnycake Benedict. It was a corncake pancake with avacado and poached eggs. I ordered with hashbrowns- which were very good-but I wish I would have had the side of fruit, just to have a sweet with the salty taste. Overall I was impressed. My husband had the Cornbeef Hash. He also said that he was pleased with the taste. Two other things that were noteworthy are the fact that they had flavored creamer for coffee and a wide variety of...
