My husband surprised me by taking me out to dinner, and he picked this one because he knows I love Thai food. Where to start? Service was amazing, very kind, and made me feel like I was eating in someone’s home! We were the only ones in the restaurant which was nice as we were able to have a conversation without having to talk loud enough to be heard over other people’s conversations. We got the chicken satay, which was seasoned well, tender and juicy, and I ate the rest of the peanut sauce with a spoon. The cucumber salad that comes with it was a perfect palate cleanser, mildly acidic but very fresh. My husband got the Crying Tiger, spice level 5, which came with a delicious dipping sauce, and I got the drunken noodles with chicken. Their drunken noodles blows any other restaurant’s completely out of the water. The noodles were super tender, the veggies were cooked perfectly, not mushy at all and the overall flavor was perfectly balanced. Not too sweet and not too spicy. Generous portions and I ended up taking the rest of my dinner home and it was even better (if that’s even possible) the next day! We will...
Read morePaid 2 visits to this place before. 1st time, with my bf for a date, we got 2 typical thai dishes, 1 pad thai, and then a rice dish that had an abundance of green beans. While mine was more enjoyable than his dish, it wasnt anything more than average or below that. The price for what you get is a little more than its worth. The dishes arent real intricate nor did they coat the dishes with sufficient sauce. It was very dry. Lacking in flavor. Tonight, I tried the seaweed salad which again the price was about $1 more than usual for other places ive been too, and there wasn't anything special about it. The 2nd thing i got was the curry chicken soup underneath the salad options... And let me tell you... Big mistake..it does not taste like curry, i doubt theres curry in it, and it smelled and tastes like fungus feet. It had chicken in the title but there were not more than 3 chunks of chicken. Definitely a rip off. I would not waste your time or money at this place unless youre looking for over priced...
Read moreFirst the positive. The restaurant was clean and the people working were very nice. I assume it was the owners running it. There was an older woman rolling the spring rolls and I can only assume it was one of their mothers. She reminded me of my mom. Also there was only 1 other person in the restaurant. It felt weird with the place being complete silent with only me in there.
I ordered Tom Yum soup and the papaya salad.
I knew I was in for trouble when the soup came out and the broth was completely clear — like water. The soup was virtually tasteless. There was no fish sauce, no galanga, and most importantly, no tamarind. This soup is is supposed to built around those key elements.
The salad. It needed fish sauce as well. As it was, it was also bland with no umami. No acid but it was sweet.
I wish I could give this place 2.5 stars. I was only passing through and I would try it again only because they were so nice. Maybe they had a bad day in...
