Vino's Deli — Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre Township

Last Night was our 3rd of the 5 night's for our vacation...

We decided to pickup dinner from a local family owned Deli that is 70+ years old.

It's Vino's Deli, 561 Blackman Street at the corner of Charles Street, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania...

They make Subs, Hoagie's, Sandwiches and other types of foods for individual consumption and or catering.

The Patriarch opened the establishment as a Butcher and Grocery Storefront and after his Passing the next generation converted it into a. Deli and Sub Shop.

Kit ordered mini perogies, mini potato pancakes and a hotdog with mustard.

I ordered the #3, Vino's Italian - Ham, Hard Salami, American Cheese which I was going to switch out with Swiss.

I ended up changing my normal Swiss to Cooper Cheese after the current Matriarch presented a sample slice that both Kit and I tasted!!!

I had my normal toppings of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers, vinegar, mayonnaise with salt, pepper and oregano...

We brought the meals back to the hotel room and began our dinner...

We were very pleased with the quality, quantity, taste and how everything was prepared...

There was one thing noticeable about how my sandwich was made the contents and toppings were separated by how the roll was cut and a middle portion of the crown was cut in a way to make the sandwich appear like a club type presentation that allowed me to keep things from overflowing and falling out of each half.

Everything was delicious, fresh and supports the reason I will continue to spend our money at the Small Local Family operated businesses that show commitment and pride in...

Best hoagies in the whole WB area...hot & cold. The prices r AMAZING! The hoagies have soo much more on them than any other deli I've ever been too...LOADED is the only word I can think of. Forget Subway...after going to Vinos u won't want to for anywhere else. They have a wide variety of topping to choose from for their hoagies/sandwiches too. Everything is made fresh while u wait...and u normally don't wait more than 5 or so min at the very most, even when they r busy. They have a good client base so they r used to being busy. U can even get a menu online or from the store the 1st time ur there & call ahead so they will have ur order rdy for u to pick up too. The service is great, its a Mom & Pop shop & they really take care of u there. I won't go anywhere else for a hoagie. They do sell sides as well, (chips, salads, all types of pasta salads, different types of puddings & deserts...they r awesome too. The have milk, juices & sodas too. Sometimes they have lunch meat, cheese & bread available like a lil corner store does. And they even have candy. Since they r a Mom & Pop shop they close a lil earlier than the chain shops do but worth getting on ur way home from work or even on ur lunch break & keeping in the fridge at work to take home for dinner later that night. I've been enjoying their sandwiches & hoagies for over 25 yrs & hope to continue for another 25 at least. Definitely recommend trying....u will fall in love w the food & the owners/staff. Food is great BUT, your customers that do not follow the law are going to hurt someone. The sign out front says NO PARKING, not no parking except to get your food. Today is the second day I could not see down Blackman and had to pull out into the opposite lane of traffic. I know you can’t force people to park down the side of the building but maybe post something about not parking out front! NOT CARING IS GOING TO CAUSE A ACCIDENT!! I lived around the corner for 12 years and had MANY close calls because you refuse to enforce your customers to park down the side. But the last two days were bad, yesterday I couldn’t see abd almost got hit by a tractor trailer abd just kiw I pulled out and as I pulled out I had to go even further into oncoming traffic because the woman in the NO PARKING decided to get out so to avoid hitting her and her door I was in the other lane and almost got hit AGAIN!. TOU GIYS NEED TO TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS THAT THEY ARE GOING TO CAUSE A ACCIDENT! No parking means just that. NO PARKING, not NO PARKIBG UNLESS YOUR PICKING UP FOOD!!!! Someone is going to get...
